Ashneer Grover did his schooling at a very prestigious school in Delhi named Apeejay School. After completing his schooling, Ashneer decided to choose a different path than his father and did his BTech in civil engineering from IIT Delhi.
Since Ashneer was brilliant in studies, he was one of the 6 students that were selected by IIM Delhi for a student exchange program at Institut national des Sciences appliques de Lyon, France. Ashneer moved to France in 2002 and also got received a 5 Lakhs scholarship from the french embassy. In 2004, after completing his graduation, Ashneer got admission to IIM Ahemdabad for MBA (Finance).
After completing his post-graduation in 2006, he joined Kotak Investment Banking and worked there for seven years. He completed 10 deals with a value of 3 billion dollars and left his job as Vice President at Kotak Investment in 2007. After that, he joined Fintech giant American Express (India) in 2013 where he got a deep understanding of payment in India.
In 2015, Ashneer joined Grofers and learned a lot about entrepreneurship, business, and investing at Grofers. To learn more about the basics of retail, Ashneer joined PC jewelers as a Head of the New Business.
After leaving PC Jewelers, Ashneer met his co-founders Shashwat and Bhavik in 2018. Together, they founded Bharat Pe – a payment gateway app – in June of that year. Bharat pe was created with the help of technology provided by Shashwat and Bhavik, as well as the knowledge and experience of Ashneer.
Today, Bharat Pe has become one of the biggest companies that deals in QR payments in India, working with small retailers (Kirana/ grocery shops). Today the company is not limited to QR payment services; it is also providing loans to small retailers on the basis of QR payments.
