Under Graduate Programme – The National Institute of Technology Silchar offers admission into Under Graduate programme – B.Tech. on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Post Graduate Programme – The National Institute of Technology Silchar offers admission into Post Graduate programmes – M.Tech. on the basis of GATE score.

GATE – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is jointly conducted by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). For more detail on GATE, Click Here.

Doctoral Programmes – The National Institute of Technology Silchar offers admission to PhD programmes on the academic achievements and interview. The programme is offered through all the departments twice in a year; one in December / January and other in June / July. The institute issues detailed notification in this regard well in advance. Financial Assistance

The National Institute of Technology Silchar offers aids to GATE and NET qualified candidates. However, qualification in GATE or NET does necessarily guarantee access to assistantship.

Only full time candidate of M.Tech. / Ph.D. programme are eligible for availing assistantship which is matter of subject to availability.
