Highlights

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts an All India Examination for recruitment for the post of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in the Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

This year, SSC will hold the entrance exam December, 2022 (paper I) and 8 2nd week of December, 2022 (paper II).

The details of the posts are as follows:

Sub-Inspector in CAPF (Group B Non-Gazetted Non-Ministerial)

The post has a pay scale of Rs. 9,300-34,800 in Pay Band 2, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200. This is a Group “C” post.

Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (Group C by Delhi Police)

The post has a pay scale of Rs. 9,300-34,800 in Pay Band 2, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200. This is a Group “B”, non-gazetted, non-ministerial post.

Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF (Group C)

The post has a pay scale of Rs. 5,200-20,200 in Pay Band 2, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2,800. This is a Group “C” post.

Eligibility criteria

The minimum age as of 1 January, 2021 is 20 years, while the maximum age as of the same date is 25 years.
You must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/ Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before I jan, 1962 or a PIO who’s migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India
You should also have completed your graduation from a recognized university or participating institution.Degrees through open universities/ distance education will be acceptable only if they are recognised by the DEC, IGNOU.
If you are applying for the post of Sub-Inspector of the Delhi Police and are a male, you should possess and carry a valid Driving License for LMV (motorcycle and car) along with you on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Standard Test, without which you will not be allowed to undergo the test.

Exam pattern and scheme

The examination will be conducted in two stages, both of which are Objective Type Questions. Only the candidates who qualify Paper I  can appear for Paper II.

Application procedure

If you are an eligible candidate, you can apply online through the following websites:

You can also apply offline through the same sites. The application should be sent in the prescribed format on or before 11 April, 2014 to any of the nine regional/sub-offices of the SSC

The Application Fee is Rs. 100, and this is payable through Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) in case of off-line. These stamps are available at the counters of every Departmental Post Office in India, and should be pasted on the application form designated for this purpose. This stamp is then to be cancelled by the Counter of Post Office from where it was issued , along with the date stamp of the Issuing Post Office in a way that an impression left on the stamp should be that it partially overflows onto the Application Form. Online payment can be done through State Bank of India for online applicants or SBI Challan.

The Application Fee is exempted for all Female candidates and for those belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Ex-servicemen category, as per the orders of the Government of India.
