Registration for the GRE slot booking can be done online, by phone, or mail. Register early to receive free test preparation materials on time. Test takers with disabilities or health-related needs cannot register online. Those requesting Monday testing cannot register online.

Online:

Candidates can register online by creating an ETS account at https://mygre.ets.org/greweb/login/login.jsp. Through your ETS account you may register for the test, view your scores, and access other services

Phone:

Call the appropriate Regional Registration Center (RRC) at least two business days before the day you wish to take the GRE test. The phone number for India is 91-124-4147700.

Your Name

When you register for GRE, Your name and its spelling must exactly match (accents, apostrophes and spaces don’t matter) what’s written on your identification (ID) documents that you will carry on the day of the test.

The primary ID in India is a valid passport with your name, photograph and signature and nothing else! All your ID documents must have your name, photograph and signature to be considered.

The following IDs won’t be accepted in India for GRE registration or on exam day:

• Any document that is photocopied or expired
• Any document that does not bear your last name exactly (excluding accents, apostrophes and spaces) as it was used when registering for the test
• International driver’s license
• Draft classification card
• International student ID
• Credit/debit card of any kind
• Notary-prepared letter or document
• Birth certificate
• Social security card
• Employee ID card
• Any temporary ID card
• Diplomatic, consulate or embassy ID card

Test takers with disabilities

Testing arrangements are available for test takers with disabilities or health-related needs. These test takers must register by mail. Make sure to register early, as documentation review takes about six weeks after paperwork is received. Requests for testing accommodation should be posted to:
