UGC will now permit students with 4 year UG degree and CGPA of 7.5/10 to pursue Phd without a masters degree.
According to the new regulations finalized by University Grants Commission (UGC), students with a CGPA of 7.5/10 in an undergraduate degree will now be eligible to apply for PhD without completing a master’s degree.
The University Grants Commission’s (UGC) new regulations for 2022 are set to be released by the end of June. These regulations will come into effect from the 2022-23 academic sessions.
Dr Prakash Bhosale, who is a renowned educational columnist and writer, discussed the new regulation with students in an event organized in Mumbai and stated that “The minimum CGPA for applicants with a four-year, eight-semester Bachelor’s degree is 7.5/10, with a 0.5 CGPA relaxation for reserve categories as well as economically disadvantaged applicants.”
