Distance Education in CIEFL University

The Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) is an autonomous institution for higher education. It offers courses in English and Foreign languages and their literatures, organisation of research, training of teachers, production of teaching materials, and extension services, to help improve the standards of the teaching of English and foreign Languages in India.

The Institute offers academic Programmes in English, Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. It is the only such university in India introducing various foreign languages that are in great demand. The university is a pioneer in teaching/learning of foreign languages.

About School of Distance Education

The School of Distance Education, CIEFL, offers teacher education programs and research programs in the field of English Teaching (ELT), Linguistics and Phonetics (L&P), and English Literature (EL).

All the courses are offered through distance mode where candidates feel convenience to update their knowledge/acquire new skills without having to be away from their homes/place of work for most of the time. The School of Distance Education offers these programs through its centre named “Centre for English Studies.
