Both the government and private enterprises involved in business of transportation are sponsors of this programme.

QIP/CEP Programmes

The Government of India has started Quality Improvement Programme – QIP in 1970. The programme is implemented and monitored by All India Council for Technical Education – AICTE, a statuary body of government of India.

The following three main activities are being undertaken under the QIP serving the faculty of degree-level engineering institutions and the faculty member:

  1. Providing opportunities for faculty members of AICTE-recognized engineering institutions and the Technical Teachers
  2. Training Institutes to improve their qualifications, by offering admissions to Masters and Ph.D. degree programme at the QIP centres.
  3. Organising, Short-term Courses at the QIP Centres for serving teachers and improving class room teaching through Curriculum Development Cell.

A number of short-term courses have also been organised by the QIP Centres for the benefit of the faculty members from engineering colleges. The courses have proved very popular and useful.
