OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship (OPJEMS) is offered to engineering and management students every year with the objective to promote academic and leadership excellence. This scholarship is instituted by the O.P Jindal Charitable Trust with the purpose to nurture students who have entrepreneurial brilliance.
The OPJEMS Scholarship is mainly awarded to those meritorious engineering and management students who have the potential to achieve the vision of the founding members. The OPJEMS scholarships will be offered to a total of 100 students from 40 premier engineering and management institutions which comprises of premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIMs and other institues across the country. As per the programme, the selected students will be awarded a yearly scholarship of Rs. 1,25,000 (for a management student) and Rs. 65,000 (for an engineering student) along with a silver medallion and a merit certificate.
Candidates who are pursuing engineering and management courses are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme. The eligibility criteria for the two streams are different.
Engineering Students
Students who come under the top three positions of second, third and fourth year based on the academic performance in the previous year are eligible. Candidates from the following streams are eligible:
Management Students
Based on the academic performance, the first 10 toppers of second year of regular Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Post Graduate Diploma in Business management (PGDBM) are eligible
The first stage is an online Behavioral Test to assess applicants on their leadership qualities. The duration of the test is about 8 minutes. Every student is to take this test from the allotted test centre. Those qualifying this stage will be called for the final round. All the shortlisted students will be interviewed by a panel of experts. The final selection will be made based on the scores obtained by candidates in the personal interview round and online test.
