Jharkhand government set to award merit scholarships to 5 students in collaboration with the British High Commission.
Jharkhand government will be awarding Chevening Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Scholarship in collaboration with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), British High Commission, New Delhi. 5 meritorious students will be receiving this scholarship. Eligible candidates have until 1st November, 2022 to apply for this scholarship.
The collaboration was signed on 23rd August, 2022. Five students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other minorities and backward categories of Jharkhand will be selected to study at the top universities of the United Kingdom. The state government issued a statement that the collaboration will provide top-class educational opportunities and create leaders of tomorrow.
Every year, 5 students from backward classes of Jharkhand will be selected for the fully-funded scholarship. Under this scholarship, students will not only be receiving their academic tuition fees (examination and thesis costs), but also get a monthly stipend that will cover their cost of living. Apart from this, it will also cover return airfare from the place of residence and an allowance package.
As per the scholarship, students will be able to pursue a one-year Master’s course at some of the most esteemed universities of the United Kingdom. To be eligible, applicants must have at least 2 years of work or equivalent experience.
