The University of Lucknow will begin offering dual degrees to students from the 2023-24 academic year. This means that students will be able to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously. The admission committee approved the implementation of UGC guidelines for dual degree programmes. This change will allow students to get the most out of their time at the university.
The university has decided to increase the seats for MSc Food Processing and Technology from 30 to 40 in the coming academic session. This is great news for students who are interested in this field of study!

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved regulations to offer joint or dual degrees and twinning programmes by Indian and foreign higher education institutions, as of earlier this April. However, universities which offer courses online or in distance mode are not able to offer the dual degree programmes.
In order to offer dual degree programmes, Indian institutions must be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a minimum score of 3.01, or ranked in the top 100 in the university category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), or else be an Institution of Eminence. These institutions can then collaborate with any foreign institution ranked in the top 500 of the Times Higher Education or QS World University ranking, without needing to seek prior approval from the UGC.
