CISCE - Examination Type

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) conducts the following examination in India and few places abroad. The ISC and ICSE examinations are conducted during the month of March while vocational examination is conducted as per the council’s notification.

(I) ICSE – Class X

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination has been designed to provide an examination in a course of general education, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, through the medium of English.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination will ensure a general education without any diversification of studies as all candidates are required to enter and sit for seven subjects as detailed on pages 3 and 4 and Socially Useful Productive Work.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination is a school examination and the standard of the examination pre-supposes a school course of ten years duration (Classes I-X).

Note:

   1. Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (theory paper) is usually held in the month of March
   2. Private candidates are not permitted to appear for the examination.


(II) ISC – Class XII

CISCE provides training supports to all those who either aspire to be a teacher or those who have already taken plunge in the teaching profession. The training for in service or regular teachers is provided at various levels- pre primary, secondary and higher secondary.

The Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examination has been designed as an examination, through the medium of English, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year-10) Examination or its equivalent.

Note:

   1. Indian School Certificate Examination (theory paper) is usually held in the month of March.
   2. Private candidates are not permitted to appear for the examination.


(III) C.V.E. – Certificate of Vocational Education (Year 12)

The Certificate of Vocational Education (CVE-12) has been created as an examination, in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Human Resource Development through the Joint Council of Vocational Education (JCVE) established under the National Policy of Education 1986.  Candidates can take this examination after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year-10) Examination or its equivalent, through the medium of English.  This certificate is intended to prepare candidates for particular occupations.

   2. General Foundation Industrial Sociology & Entrepreneurship

   3. Telecommunication Engineering Technician
   4. Computer Theory & System Analyst
   5. Business Studies
   6. Air Conditioning and refrigeration
   7. Offset Printing Technician
   8. Graphic Designing Technician
   9. Physical Education
  10. Crèche & Pre-primary School Management
  11. Hospitality Management
  12. Exterior & Interior Design
  13. Office Assistant
