Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) - Introduction

The Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur was established in the year 1949 by Father Quinn Enright. The institute was visualized to provide support to the developmental process of the country by producing professionals trained in the management and other such skills.

The institute emphasizes also on fellowship and research programs apart from training management graduates. The XLRI is a name for producing business managers with best entrepreneurial skill. The institute’s sole motto is to achieve ‘excellence in everything’.

Since its inception, the XLRI has contributed its best to the professional growth and management to a number of institutions both managed by government as well as private agencies; for example – labour, service agencies engaged in rural development, education, health or other public systems.

Besides developing managerial competence among the learners through attainment of specific knowledge and skills, the Institute put greater emphasis on the importance of developing a sense of social justice with right attitudes and values of discipline, dedication and commitment among all its members. The culture of XLRI offers its members to accelerate not only in managing business but in every other task whatever they perform throughout their life.
