In this age of globalisation, English, as a language, has gained a lot of importance. A course in English at the ICSE stage aims to build on the platform laid in the junior classes and further strengthen the language skills of the students.
The aims (as mentioned on the CISCE website) of English at the ICSE level are:
- To develop and integrate the use of 4 language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
- To enhance the ability of the candidates to express their ideas and feelings in their own words and for them to understand the use of current English.
- To use English effectively and appropriately.
- To provide candidates with exposure to good and appropriate literature in English
