The Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is known as the GGSIPU CET. This entrance examination is held to facilitate admission into the different disciplines of Engineering, Technology, and Science, at the Bachelors degree level, which leads to the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). Diploma holders can also attend this examination to obtain the Lateral Entry scheme into the B.Tech programme. Admission can be sought into the six year Dual Degree programme, which includes the Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree. The GGSIPU CET also facilitates admission into the programmes in the field of medicine, law, mass communication, education, and management.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in GGSIPU CET 2014 differs according to the course you’re applying to:
For the regular B.Tech programme, you need a minimum percentage of 55% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology, depending upon the stream of Engineering you choose. You should have passed in each subject individually, and also have studied English as a subject. You should have passed English in the qualifying examination. The same apply for the B.Tech/M.Tech Dual Degree programme, and for M.Tech.
For an M.Tech course, a minimum of 60% is required in the qualifying examination, which may be a B.Tech, B.E., M.Sc., MCA, MCA (SE) or Graduation. The candidate must also be GATE Qualified in the subject or CET qualified (for non-GATE) candidates.
The B.Arch programme does not require CET as an eligibility criterion. To be eligible, you need to have passed twelfth grade under CBSE or an equivalent board with a minimum of 50%. You need to ensure a minimum score of 50% in Mathematics as well. If you are applying after a three year diploma in Architecture, you must have passed the National Aptitude Test of Architecture (NATA) as well, which is imperative for those who apply after the 10+2 scheme.

Candidates have to apply online for GGSIPU CET. After filling in the Application Form, a print out should be taken. The printout, along with the specified supporting documents, and the test fee must be sent to the university before the deadline of April 10, 2014. A valid personal e-mail ID is required. If your scores are CGPA, you have to convert them to percentage scores. Photos of dimension 4.5 cm length and 3 cm width must be uploaded, of size less than 80 kB. Similarly, a photo of the signature, of dimensions 3.5 cm length and 8 cm width, must be uploaded.
The Application Fee is INR 750, and INR 2 will be charged extra by the bank, depending upon the course. Payments can also be made by internet banking, with a credit or debit card.

The counselling is tentatively scheduled to be held in July 2014. If you have qualified in the GGS IPU CET 2014, then you have to register for Counselling. The Counselling will be held in two rounds for admissions into the B.Tech courses. Each round will contain two phases.
Phase I : Registration
Registration fee payment will have to be paid from the third week of June 2014, as per the current schedule. Candidates have to enter the course and their unique GGS IPU CET 2014 Roll Number. The registration fee is INR 1,000 and is non-refundable. The payment can be done by net banking, or by cash payment at any Indian Bank branch, after printing the downloaded Indian Bank Challan. A unique IPU CET 2014 ID will be generated after the fee payment is submitted.
Phase II : Registration Details
This phase consists of Choice Filling, where you are requested to fill in the maximum number of your choice of discipline, in the order of preference. After this, Seat Allotment, based on merit, category, and availability of seats will take place. The IPU CET 2014 Admission Fee of INR 40,000 has to be paid at any Indian Bank branch.
