CSIR UGC National Eligibility Test (NET)

Constituted in 1942, the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) – the premier industrial R&D organization in India is an autonomous body registered under the Registration of Societies Act of 1860. The CSIR aims to provide industrial competitiveness, social welfare, strong S&T base for strategic sectors and advancement of fundamental knowledge.

 

CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test on 22nd June, 2014 to determine the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology.

Important dates

The CSIR UGC NET is conducted twice a year (June and December) for the science stream. CSIR UGC NET 2014 is next being conducted on 22 June, 2014. Visit the CSIR NET exam dates page for the complete schedule.

You need to apply online to the CSIR-UGC NET for JRF award and eligibility for Lectureship on the official website of CSIR, HRDG.

You may deposit the Examination fee in any Indian Bank branch in India by paying in cash. If you are applying from Srinagar or Imphal, you can deposit the fees through RTGS and NEFT by giving the particulars of the Indian Bank.

You can also apply online through the link available on www.csirhrdg.res.in. You will have to download the Bank challan Performa and deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the Indian Bank branches across the country.

Once you have successfully submitted the application online, take a printout and past your latest black-and-white photograph on it. Your signature is also needed. Attach the required certificates and send the application form along with the CSIR marked copy of the fee deposited Bank Challan to the Sr. Controller of Examination,
