The Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai erstwhile Directorate of Marine Engineering & Training (DMET) was established in 1949 at Mumbai, Maharashtra with establishment of its Headquarters at Kolkata. The institute provides one year training programme i.e. Trainee Marine Engineering (TME) course to graduates in mechanical engineering. The total number of seats available to this programme is 105. All the candidates who join this programme are sponsored by different national and international agencies.
The MERI is well equipped for imparting effective training programme in all the branches of Marine Engineering.
