CUET UG 2022: UGC Released the Tentative Schedule for Admissions. Check Full List here

UGC has released the tentative admission schedule for students on UGC’s official website. Read on to find out more.

CUET UG 2022

The UGC has released a tentative timeline for admissions in UG programmes based on CUET-2022 scores in different central universities. In a tweet, UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said that candidates can find the details on the UGC website under the “Notices” section.

The results of the first edition of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions were declared last Friday, a day later than initially planned. The exam, which is the gateway for undergraduate admissions in all central universities, began in July and concluded on August 30. Sixty percent attendance was recorded for the exam.

"The merit lists will be prepared by participating universities, who will decide about their individual counselling on the basis of the CUET-UG score card," said Sadhana Parashar, senior director (exams), NTA.

IndiaEducation Counselling

According to the initial plan, CUET-UG was scheduled to conclude on August 20. However, due to several glitches, the exam was further deferred and split into six phases to accommodate students whose exam was rescheduled. Technical glitches, last-minute changes in exam centers, uninformed changes in exam dates and admit cards mentioning past dates were some of the issues faced by students during the exam.

With 14.9 lakh registrations, the CUET is now the second biggest entrance exam in the country, surpassing JEE-Main’s average registration of nine lakh. NEET-UG is the biggest entrance test in India with an average of 18 lakh applicants.

CBSE Class 10th 2023 Preparation Tips

  1. Know the Exam Pattern and Syllabus Well

It is essential that students know the exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly. The CBSE class 10th exam pattern includes details about the type of questions, the number of questions, duration of the exam, marking scheme, and sections covered among others. Students are strongly advised to go through the complete CBSE class 10th syllabus.

2. Make a study schedule

Without a solid plan, it’s highly unlikely you’ll hit your target. In order to ace your CBSE board exams, you need to sit down and make a study schedule that you can stick to. This will help keep you on track and motivated – making it more likely that you’ll reach your goals.

When you’re creating your timetable, make sure to assign more time to the subjects that give you more trouble. This way you can focus on those areas and ensure that you understand the material before moving on.

3. Solve Sample Papers

Practicing with previous years’ question papers is a great way for students to gauge their understanding and level of preparedness for the upcoming examination. It is essential that students keep track of time while solving the paper so that they can get an idea of their problem-solving speed and how well they can manage their time under pressure.

4. Take a Break!

It can be difficult for students to learn if they sit in one place for extended periods of time, so it’s recommended that students take short breaks while studying. Doing 10-15 minutes of exercise in between your studies will help keep you fit, active, and mentally prepared for future sciences.

5. Write appropriate answers

After all the preparation for the exam, it’s time to put your knowledge to the test. Students must follow the proper technique and strategy to write the answers in the best way and complete the exam well on time. Make the best use of the 15 minutes reading time allotted before starting writing the exam.

Is Online Degree the Next Big Trend in Education?

Online Degree

Is Online Degree the Next Big Trend in Education?

Online degrees have become extremely popular after the pandemic and have become the new way of education. Let’s take a look at why online degrees are the next big trend in education.

Online Degree

In recent years, online degrees have become a widely used method of education, employed by some of the most reputable colleges and universities worldwide. In fact, online courses have become so popular that students can reap a number of advantages and benefits by taking their courses via the internet.

There are several reasons why online courses have become increasingly attractive to students. One reason is that the online environment enables people to take classes from anywhere on the globe. Additionally, online education is often more affordable than receiving a traditional on-campus degree.

Let’s take a look at why online degrees are the next new trend in education.

1. UGC declared that degrees earned online are equally valid as degrees earned in traditional ways.

In a bid to provide a level playing field to those who have earned their degrees through different modes, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that distance, online learning degrees from recognized institutions will be treated on par with degrees obtained through conventional modes.

"Degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level in conformity with UGC notification on Specification of Degrees, 2014 and, post-graduate diplomas awarded through Open and Distance learning or Online mode by Higher Educational Institutions, shall be treated as equivalent to the corresponding degrees and post-graduate diploma offered through conventional mode," UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain said.

This change will allow more people to have access to opportunities that were previously only available to those who pursued traditional methods of learning. It also levels the playing field for employers, who will now be able to consider a wider range of applicants when hiring.

2. Online Learning Satisfaction rate rises Post Pandemic: Survey

According to a recent survey from Wiley, most of the 2,500 adult respondents who were enrolled in or were planning to enroll in an online degree or certificate program had positive views. Compared with pre-pandemic data, satisfaction with online learning increased by 8%.

“Since we began this report over a decade ago, online learning has evolved substantially, but the most significant shifts have occurred over the last two years since the COVID-19 pandemic began," the report said.

The survey showed that the preference for learning online has continued to rise over the past year, and about 80% of current and recently graduated online learners said they would consider taking another online program. Respondents also reported an increasing interest in occasional synchronous learning, though asynchronous learning remains preferred.

3. Numerous advantages of online learning and online degree

In the U.S. News & World Report article, one online student pursuing an advanced degree highlighted some of the benefits he experienced, saying that discussions are actually better online because students can more easily reflect on their arguments and expand on ideas in forums.

He also said that having all lectures and materials readily available online made it easier for him to stay on top of his work and not fall behind. Other advantages of online learning that he mentioned included being able to take classes from anywhere in the world and having a more flexible schedule.
