According to the survey conducted by The WorldGrad, a tech-enabled overseas education platform, 72 per cent of students are willing to choose part online- part offline programs (hybrid) to study abroad. The main reason for students to choose hybrid programmes was to save money in the post-pandemic scenario.

Impact of Covid-19 on study abroad plans

The survey conducted by The WorldGrad involved more than 4,000 students wishing to study abroad. It is found from the survey, that 66.8 per cent of students agreed that the newest wave of the Covid-19 pandemic had impacted their plans to study abroad.

The survey said, “66.8 per cent of the students have accepted the fact that the ongoing pandemic wave has impacted their overseas study plan. In a lot of cases, parents were uncomfortable with their children moving overseas right now due to safety concerns. Not surprisingly, the handling of COVID-19 by destination countries was the third most important criterion while choosing a country for studies.”

Top destinations for studying abroad post Covid-19 era

Before the pandemic, the United States was the most popular abroad educational destination among Indian students, followed by Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

The survey further said, “This signifies a change in trend in favor of two countries, the USA and Australia, both of which had fallen out of favor amongst international students during the pandemic.”
