INSEAD Admission process

The two intakes at INSEAD are in August and January. There are five steps in the admissions process. The video interview and online application mark the beginning of the first stage. The second stage involves the pre-selection decision, the third stage involves the alumni/expert interviews, the fourth stage involves the meeting of the admission committee, and the final stage involves the admission decision.

Requirements

Academic foundation: Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university is required, though the university may in rare cases make an exception for deserving individuals with extensive work experience. While it is encouraging that many applicants have postgraduate degrees, it is not a requirement. The university evaluates your academic history by looking at both your academic accomplishment and how competitive the school you attended was.

GMAT: While there is a minimum score needed for admission, students are urged to aim for a score as near to or above 640. All applicants must take the GMAT. It is suggested to have a score of 6 or higher on the Integrated Reasoning section. Please remember, however, that standardized examinations are simply one of several considerations for admission. Both an above-average and below-average score are not requirements for admission.

GRE: The university also accepts the GRE test; however, they do not have a minimum score requirement and suggest applicants to aim for a verbal and quantitative score of at least 80%.

Business School of London

This university’s essay has a number of questions that must be addressed as part of the application process. These are the inquiries:

Question 1. Describe your post-MBA goals in 500 words or less, and explain how your prior experience and the London Business School curriculum can help you achieve them.

Question 2. (500 words) (This inquiry might be omitted.) Do you have any further information about yourself or your application to London Business School that you feel the admissions committee should be aware of?

Requirements

— Application criteria (VISA)

— Complete the online application

— Application essays

— A one-page CV

— Name and details of the referee (a person who knows you at work or in academics)

— GMAT/GRE

— Proof of English language ability

— Application fee (200 Euros)

— A copy of the university transcript

INSEAD Tuition fees

Each year in December, the tuition costs for the July batch are determined. In June, the costs for the December session are revealed. The approximate cost of tuition for the August 2023 intake is €97,000, and the approximate cost for the January 2024 intake is €98,500. Installments may be made for the fees.

All printed course materials, use of the INSEAD library, on-campus information technology services, language testing and tuition, fees for the student council, use of the gym, business cards, printing, and health insurance are all covered by this sum.

London School of Business Tuition fees

The approximate cost of tuition for the 2023 MBA intake is £109,700. This is applicable for the whole 15–21 month program and is unaffected by the exit point you choose.

Travel costs associated with the program are not included in the fees. This allows you the freedom to customize your educational experience and related expenses. For instance, depending on the place you select, the various Global Experiences have differing travel and lodging prices.

In addition to the tuition, students must pay a £300 Student Association Fee to cover the cost of their Student Association (SA) membership, which enables them to take part in our active community.

INSEAD Scholarship

There are a finite amount of competitive INSEAD scholarships available. These scholarships are awarded based on a number of factors. There are really just two types of scholarships:

— Need-based: demonstrate a need for money

— Merit-based: determined by merit, as well as factors like nationality, gender, professional history, leadership potential, and previous academic specialization.

For Indian students, the university offers the “INSEAD Indian Alumni Scholarship.” Candidates who are Indian citizens and have a documented need for financial assistance will be given these awards. Candidates that have difficulty obtaining enough money for the MBA Program will receive support from the prize. Candidates will need to submit an application through the INSEAD Diversity Scholarship Group for this scholarship, which will be worth 25,000 euros.

London School of Business Scholarship

For Indian students, the London Business School offers a number of scholarship programs, including the Lady Meherbai D. Tata Education Trust Scholarship, the SARI Foundation Trust Scholarship, and others.

In light of the CAG audit, which will examine the compliance, performance, and financial aspects of the program, which was renamed “PM Poshan” in 2021.

CAG 2023

CAG 2023: The Ministry of Education has asked the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) to conduct a special audit of the midday meal program in the state, citing alleged financial mismanagement, days after establishing a panel to examine the implementation of the program in West Bengal.

IndiaEducation Counselling

On Wednesday, the ministry made its choice official and stated that it would implement the necessary “corrective action” in light of the CAG audit, which will examine the compliance, performance, and financial aspects of the program, which was renamed “PM Poshan” in 2021.

“The Ministry of Education has received reports about the alleged misuse of funds in West Bengal under the PM Poshan scheme. Instances of deviations in implementation of the scheme have also been reported in the media. In view of the above, the ministry has requested the CAG for a special audit of implementation of the scheme in the state for the last three financial years,” an official statement said.

The ministry had announced the formation of a Joint Review Mission (JRM) on January 13 to look into various facets of the scheme’s implementation, from “fund flow from state to schools” to “convening the meetings of district-level committee under chairperson of senior most Member of Parliament” in West Bengal.

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in West Bengal, wrote to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan alleging “misappropriation” of funds for midday meals by the Trinamool-led administration. This led to the formation of the JRM.

“The funds granted by the Central government in this regard have been systematically diverted unethically by the state government on a regular basis to serve their own interests,” he had alleged.

The members of the committee later traveled to the state as well. The JRM for West Bengal, incidentally, had a press release from the ministry, but the JRMs for Tamil Nadu and Telangana, which were formed at the same time, did not.

These joint missions “shall visit eight to ten states every year to review the implementation of the scheme at state, district, and school levels on defined parameters,” as stated in the PM Poshan guidelines. A JRM’s visit to West Bengal in 2020 needed to be “deferred.”

West Bengal’s most recent JRM report was published in 2015. The state was commended by the JRM for a number of things in its report, including “systematic allotment of food grains without any delay,” “monitoring management,” and “preparation of menu in consultation with the parents and other stakeholders.”

Additionally, it had mentioned limitations like “no proper kitchen and dining space” in all village schools and “30% of the schools are run in rented houses in which owners are not permitting to cook the meal inside the building.”

The study claims that there are inherent “cultural issues,” and that many students are affected by the “glorification” of leadership roles and extracurricular activities. “Roughly 54.4% of students said that this culture had an impact on their placement decisions.

IIT Bombay Placement 2023

IIT Bombay Placement 2023: Researchers from the Centre for Policy Studies at IIT-Bombay found that between 2014 and 2018, more than 60% of IIT-Bombay graduates accepted positions in industries unrelated to their fields of study, with the exception of computer science and engineering (CSE) and electrical engineering (EE).

Contrary to popular belief, increased pay “may not be the primary factor” influencing decisions, claims a study published in the journal Current Science. The research cites “other variables,” pointing to “cultural difficulties,” which cause students to place a greater emphasis on “extracurricular activities” than on their studies, leaving many of them “underprepared for core occupations requiring domain expertise.” It also lists “pressure to get placed as soon as possible” as a factor.

“This trend also raises the important question: why are we spending so much on engineering training that is ‘misallocated’ subsequently,” states the paper authored by Namit Agrawal, Sailakshmi Sreenath, Shishir K Jha and Anurag Mehra of the Centre for Policy Studies, IIT-Bombay.

The results of the five-year study are based on 2,109 students’ placement data. On the basis of the responses from 269 of these 2,109 students, the reasons for their decisions were determined.

For the purposes of the study, the authors of the paper define core jobs as positions that in some way relate to the student’s field of engineering. Therefore, any position that requires the domain knowledge taught in a given branch is regarded as “core” for that branch, regardless of the industry to which the company belongs. For the upkeep and maintenance of equipment, chemical industries also employ mechanical and electrical engineers. Therefore, even though these engineers work in the chemical industry, they still need to be knowledgeable in their respective fields, according to the paper.

The only disciplines where core jobs still predominate are computer science and engineering (CSE) and electrical engineering (EE), according to the study. In EE, 53.81% of student-chosen jobs were in core industries, compared to 82.71% in CSE.

According to the paper, CSE is unusual in many ways because it exists in “a world so dominated by computers and computing that a CSE graduate can fit into almost any sector.”

But in almost every other field, students chose non-core positions that had nothing to do with their field of study. With 87.04% of its graduates choosing non-core positions, Aerospace Engineering (AE) topped the list. It was followed by Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS), Engineering Physics (EP), Civil Engineering (CE), Chemical Engineering (ChE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Engineering Physics (EP) in that order.

The study notes that there is a small difference in median salaries in different countries, indicating that students’ decision-making is not solely influenced by the allure of higher salaries.

The paper notes that “other factors are at play in deciding the core versus non-core choices,” adding that “contrary to popular belief, median salaries for core and non-core jobs were similar for most departments, except for Computer Science Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Civil Engineering.”

The study claims that there are inherent “cultural issues,” and that many students are affected by the “glorification” of leadership roles and extracurricular activities. “Roughly 54.4% of students said that this culture had an impact on their placement decisions… This exaltation encourages students to place more emphasis on extracurricular activities than on academics, which leaves many of them underqualified for core positions requiring domain knowledge, the report claims.

NEET PG 2023: Internship cut-off extended to June 30

“Considering the future of more than 13,000 MBBS students across 5 States/UTs who were not eligible for #NEETPG2023 exam due to delayed internship, MoHFW has decided to extend last date of completion of internship for eligibility to 11th Aug 2023,” said the union health ministry in a tweet.

NEET PG 2023

NEET PG 2023: The internship cut-off date was further extended by the National Board of Examination (NBE), which administers the screening test for post-graduate medical programs, to August 11, making 13,000 more MBBS students from five states eligible for the 2023 examination. The body in January extended the originally announced internship deadline of March 30 to June 30.

The internship deadline for dental students has been extended until June 30, according to the ministry, making an additional 3,000 dental students eligible for the MDS 2023 test.

All medical students must undergo a one-year internship after their final exams to graduate in order to be qualified for post-graduation. When the deadline for finishing this internship by March 31 was originally set, approximately half of the candidates would not have been accepted. Over the past three years, the pandemic has caused delays in the academic calendar for the medical field.

However, after the registration of the students who previously qualified, the extra students who become eligible must choose their preferred city to take the examination if seats are still available.

A notification was issued by NBE about the postponement on Tuesday, which added, “Rest of the terms and conditions as detailed in the bulletin shall remain unchanged,” essentially implying that the qualifying examination will still take place as scheduled on March 5.

Residents and NEET PG applicants expressed at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday, requesting that the examination be postponed as well because there would be a month-long delay between the examination and the counseling.

Similar to the previous year, there will be a five-month delay between the exam and counseling in 2022. Due to the fact that the 2021 round of counseling finished just days before the exam and that many candidates take the NEET PG in many rounds to secure seats of their choosing, there were protests last year to postpone the examinations.

Over the past two years, there have been a number of protests to both speed up counseling and postpone exams.

Are there requirements of 75% for JEE Main 2023?

The class 12th or equivalent exam must have been passed in 2021, 2022, or 2023 in order for a candidate to be eligible to sit for JEE Main 2023, regardless of age. The entrance exam is also open to applicants who passed the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2020 or earlier, as well as those who will take the exam again in 2024.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) recently declared that students from the top 20% of all boards will be eligible to seek admission based on their JEE Main score, in addition to the eligibility requirement of scoring 75% and above in class 12.

Do NITs require a class 12 board exam score of at least 75%?

The IITs reinstated the requirement of 75% or higher in class 12 for admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs this year. However, the Ministry of Education added a second eligibility requirement in response to requests from students. The inclusion of the 20-percentile criteria was chosen in order to give those who might not have received a score of 75% or higher the chance to still take the exam and participate in the admissions process.

The revised eligibility requirements state that in addition to having achieved an All-India rank in JEE Main, a student must have either achieved a class 12 board exam score of 75% or higher or rank in the top 20% of candidates for that board. Candidates from SC and ST must receive at least 65% in their class 12 exams to qualify.

UGC 2023

UGC 2023: The deadline for providing comments, ideas, and feedback on the draft for establishing and running campuses of foreign higher educational institutions (FHEIs) in India has been extended once more by the University Grants Commission (UGC). According to the most recent information, the UGC has extended the deadline to February 20 in response to appeals from stakeholders. Earlier, such submissions had until tomorrow, February 3, and before that, January 18.

The notice states, “The last period is now further extended to February 20, 2023, in view of the requests being received from the stakeholders to extend the final date for providing comments/suggestions/feedback on the suggested draft Regulations.” Additionally, the Commission has stated that feedback, comments, and suggestions should be submitted to [email protected].

Find out the UGC Guidelines on Foreign Universities set up in India

With the aid of this new legislation, foreign higher education institutions will be permitted to establish campuses in the nation following UGC approval. According to UGC chairperson M. Jagadesh Kumar, the FHEIs must fulfill particular standards before setting up campuses in India.

The university must have attained a position in the top 500 of the global overall rankings or subject-specific global rankings, according to the UGC rules on foreign universities. The commission will periodically double-check this ranking and make its decision. The FHEI candidate should also be a well-known institution in their place of origin.

The UGC had previously released guidelines indicating that the candidate universities were required to make their prospectus available for student access. Information on the number of seats in each program, the cost, the requirements, the admissions process, and the return policy should be included in the prospectus or information booklet.

A minimum of 60 days prior to the start of the admissions process, the educational prospectus must be made available. According to UGC, only offline modes of full-time programs can be offered by foreign universities having campuses in India. Meaning that candidates for these particular universities won’t have access to online or distant learning. The commission will grant initial permission for 10 years to the applicant universities that meet all of the requirements. Only if specific criteria are met will it be renewed in the ninth year.
