The NCPCR has summoned BYJU’s CEO Byju Raveendran, asking him to appear in person on December 23 over alleged malpractice of hard selling and mis-selling of its courses for students.Â
The Commission took action based on a news report that the sales team of BYJU’S may have been indulging in malpractices to lure parents into buying their courses for their children.
The Commission stated that the news report claimed that BYJU’S had been deceptively getting customers to agree to loans for courses that can’t be refunded. The article also alleged that the ed-tech platform had been receiving complaints from parents but had been neglecting them, the child rights panel said.
