JEE Main application procedure

Candidates must note that JEE Main Application 2023 can only be made online at the official website: www.jeemain.nic.in.

Please confirm if you are eligible for JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced before applying for the exam. You are advised to apply for JEE Main 2023 only if your class 12th/ qualifying exam’s results are declared before 15 June, 2022.

The entire application process has been made online since JEE Main 2014. Candidates don’t need to send any documents to the JEE (Main) Secretariat.

Online JEE Main 2022 application process

  1. Keep scanned images of your photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression ready in only JPG format.
  2. Fill in the JEE Main 2022 online application form at www.jeemain.nic.in.
  3. Upload all these scanned images.
  4. Pay examination fee through debit/ credit card or e-Challan (generated after submission of details in online application form)
  5. Download the acknowledgement slip and keep it safe

Using AADHAAR card for JEE Main application 2023

A big change introduced in the online application process since JEE Main 2017 is that the applicants now need to also enter their Aadhaar card number, apart from their name, birth date, gender in order to authenticate their application.

In case you don’t have a Aadhar card yet, apply for one special enrolment centres set up by the CBSE in every city that has a JEE Main 2022 exam centre.

JEE Main applicants from  J&K, Assam & Meghalaya

Candidates appearing from these states need to valid government identity number such as passport number, ration card number, bank account number etc.

JEE Main Application fee 2023

The application fee for JEE Main2023 exam needs to be made according to the following table. The fee remains the same as last year’s:

JEE Main Application procedure: How to pay the fee?

The fee payment can be made either by credit/debit card/ SBI buddy/ Paytm or through cash deposit at Syndicate/ Canara/ ICICI/ HDFC bank using the e-challan generated while applying online.

You can submit only one application form. Multiple applications from the same candidate will be rejected. The candidate’s name in the application form must be the same as that registered in class 12/qualifying examination.

The hard copy of the computer generated confirmation page need not be sent to the JEE Main office, since the application process is completely online.

The application number that is printed on the computer generated confirmation page must be mentioned in any correspondence with the JEE (Main) office. It is, therefore, important to make note of the application number printed on the confirmation page.

At any time, a candidate can check the status of the application on the JEE (Main) 2022 website by giving the application number and date of birth.
