VITEEE 2016 Exam Pattern - How to tackle each section:

VITEEE has four subjects, namely physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology, which are part 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively. A student needs to attend only three segments. Those students who had physics, chemistry and biology can attempt part 1, 2 and 4. Those students who had physics, chemistry and mathematics can attempt parts 1, 2 and 3. If you had both mathematics and biology, then you have the option of attempting either parts 1, 2 and 3 or parts 1, 2 and 4.

There are a total of 120 questions for all tests, which are held for 150 minutes. All questions are objective type, in which you need to select the right option. Each right answer is worth one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The question paper would be set only in English.

Physics has 40 questions. Heat and thermodynamics have the highest weightage, followed by magnetic effect of current. Other topics in physics like current electricity or gravitation have more or less the same weightage. All of these topics need to be studied thoroughly before attempting the exam.

Chemistry also has 40 questions. Here chemical bonding has the highest weightage followed by atomic structure. Special attention should be given to these while also thoroughly going through all others topics such as biomolecules, p-block elements or electrochemistry. Mathematics has 40 questions. Calculus, circles and trigonometry are vital chapters here, but this doesn’t mean that the other topics have any lesser value than these.

Biology has 40 questions. Genetics, evolution, microbiology and immunology, molecular biology and biotechnology are a few important subjects here. These must be done thoroughly. It is necessary to go through all chapters thoroughly and not rely on merely these to get you good marks in the segment.

VITEEE 2017 Preparation tips

  • Given below are some preparation tips for VITEEE 2017:

    Focus
VITEEE can be a tough exam to crack and can require dedication and tenacity. Reading and re-reading the topics until everything is clear is absolutely necessary. Manage time and answers efficiently. Don’t dwell on a question for too long.

    Planning
Proceed with a plan of action in place. Divide up your time equally to address all segments and all their topics. Stress the ones you don’t know well, if there is enough time. Otherwise revise and solidify the ones that you are most familiar with. Don’t try to cram in information. Track your progress and keep tabs on your syllabus so you’re ready for the exam when on test day.

    Practice
There is no substitute for hard work, so solve as many questions as possible.

    Study books for VITEEE
Complete the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) books first. Then you can consult H.C. Verma for physics, O.P. Agarwal and R.C. Mukherjee for physical chemistry, K.C. Sinha for algebra and calculus and S.L. Loney for trigonometry and coordinates.

    Relax
Find time to relax and manage stress efficiently.
