The JIPMER MBBS entrance exam is conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry. Students who have completed 10+2 are eligible for the JIPMER MBBS Exam.

JIPMER has been declared as an “Institution of National Importance” by an Act of Parliament, JIPMER, Puducherry, Act, 2008 and is now empowered to award Medical Degrees, Diplomas, etc. These degree holders will have the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from the recognized Universities of India.

JIPMER offers Undergraduate (UG) medical degrees, Postgraduate (PG) medical degrees and Super Specialty Medical Training through a working hospital (JIPMER Hospital) with a bed strength of 2559 and a nursing college.

M.B.B.S., B.Sc., M.Sc., M.D., M.S, Degree Courses are offered in 37 disciplines.

Super Specialty (D.M./ M.Ch. Courses) are offered in the following specialisations: Cardiology, Neurology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Hematology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, Endocrinology, Surgical Oncology and Surgical Gastroenterology.

Full-time Ph.D. Programs are available in eight disciplines as of now.

JIPMER has also started offering Master of Public Health (30 seats) Post Basic Diploma Courses in Nursing (50 Seats in five disciplines) in May 2022(Tentative).

Programme

JIPMER offers admission to M.B.B.S. course through a common entrance test to be conducted by the institute. There are 150 seats to be filled through the examination. The period of study of the course is four and half years followed by one year of compulsory rotatory internship.

JIPMER MBBS 2022 Application Form

Applications can be submitted only through the On-line mode. You would be required to apply by visiting the website http://jipmer.edu.in/education/examinations/

Registration fee can be submitted through Net banking or credit/debit card only. Application fee is Rs. 1600 for general category and Rs. 1200 for SC/ST/OPH candidates.

JIPMER MBBS 2022 Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate should be an Indian national.
• Candidate should be 17 years old at the time of admission or complete the age on or before 31^st December, 2022. There is no age relaxation for any category of candidates.
• Candidates should have passed or is appearing 10+2/ Senior Secondary Examination and must have obtained at least an aggregate of 50% marks with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology and English as prescribed by NCERT from a recognized Board/ State board.
• Applicants should have passed in the all the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Bio/ Biotechnology, English) individually and should have got an aggregate of 50% in all these subjects in the qualifying 10+2 exam as well as in the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam. SC/ ST/ OBC/ OPH cnadidates need to secure at least 40% marks in all these subjects in the qualifying 10+2 exam as well as in the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam.

JIPMER MBBS 2022 Exam Pattern

Candidates must note that the entrance test will be conducted online across various test centers. The entrance exams will follow objective type questions format. There will be 200 multiple choice questions asked over the duration of 150 minutes. The medium of exam will only be English.

The examination will comprise questions primarily based on subjects such as Physics (60 marks), Chemistry (60 marks), Biology (60 marks) and English (20 marks). Each question will carry 1 mark. There is no negative marking for wrong responses.

The syllabus will be based on the curriculum prescribed by state board and CBSE for XI and XII standard.

JIPMER MBBS 2022 Hall Ticket

Hall Tickets for JIPMER MBBS exam, 2022 shall be available for download from May 2022(Tentative) onwards. It will contain your name and date of birth, photo and signature image as uploaded by you, your allotted examination city and roll number.

Only requests for change in category / status in the hall ticket will  be considered. Such requests with copy of the downloaded application and hall ticket and proof of category / status should reach “The Registrar (Academic)”, JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006″ on or before 2nd week of April 2022(Tentative). You would also need to pay Rs.1000 or Rs.800 (as applicable) by way of demand draft, drawn in favour of “The Accounts Officer”, Puducherry, payable at Puducherry, as for a fresh application.
