IIM Jammu in Jammu & Kashmir is one of the newest management institutes under the Indian Institute of Management brand. The institution is being mentored by one of the top most business schools in India – the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. IIM Lucknow has been known for successfully mentoring three other IIMs in the past – IIM Rohtak, IIM Kashipur and IIM Sirmaur.

Campus

IIM Jammu is yet to have a permanent campus however the temporary campus of IIM Jammu is situated at the Government College of Engineering and Technology (Old University Campus). The IIM Jammu campus is given shelter right in the middle of the university campus.

Programs Offered

IIM Jammu is offering the standard PGP course to begin with.

Since the recruitment of full-time faculty is a long process, faculty members from IIM Lucknow would be engaged in teaching at IIM Jammu. This would include some visiting faculty selected by IIM Lucknow for meeting their exacting standards. However, the overall quality as well as functionality of PGP would be with the direct involvement of IIM Lucknow for a period of three years’ time. The institution is likely to offer the standard specializations in Human resource, Marketing and Finance. However, more details shall be available on its official website very soon.

Admission Criteria & Process 2017-2019

Students seeking admission to the institute for 2017-2019 would be considered on the basis of performance in CAT 2016. While the overall percentile for General candidates is 80 plus, OBC & SC, ST candidates may be able to get admission between 60 to 75 percentile.

This year, i.e. 2017-2019 batch, there will be no interviews conducted and the merit list will be prepared based on the performance of the candidate in CAT 2016. The merit list is likely to be released in the last week of May 2017.

Final Merit List

The final merit list for admission into IIM Jammu 2017-2019 batch will be based on the percentile of the candidate. Only those candidates who have received the minimum percentile will be taken into consideration for the calculation of composite score.
