CAT Eligibility Criteria 2022: The exam conducting body of CAT has released the eligibility criteria for CAT 2022. Candidates who are applying for the CAT examination are advised to take a look at the CAT Eligibility Criteria 2022 given below.
CAT is one of the most popular entrance exams today that allow candidates to secure seats in the best colleges and universities for business administration programs. Though it is mainly used by the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) for sifting through the potential candidates, many other MBA colleges today are making use of CAT scores for similar selection procedures.
CAT Eligibility Criteria 2022: Important Highlights
Before you decide to appear for CAT 2022, you have to make sure that you fulfill all the eligibility criteria for CAT in order to avoid running into problems in the future.

Eligibility Requirements for CAT
- AÂ CATÂ 2022 aspirant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Persons with Disability (PWD) category) from any recognized University of India.
- If the aspirant is in the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification and have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results, he/she can also apply.Â
List of Equivalent Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post Diploma ) or B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers India)
- Any Qualification recognized by Association of Indian Universities New Delhi which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by UGC recognized University/Institutions.
- Cases not covered above equivalency certificate to be produced from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

CAT Eligibility criteria: Registration with Backlog
Will you be eligible to apply for CAT 2022 with backlogs? Yes you will! Any Candidate with backlogs in their graduation program can apply and give the CAT examination without any difficulties. Any Candidate who have scored 50% in their graduation and even in supplementary exam can apply for the exam. While filling the CAT registration form, remember, to choose “Yes” to the question, “Are you in your final year of your bachelor’s degree?”.
IIM CAT Reservation Criteria
IIMs has their own reservations criteria for CAT 2022. Check out the table listed below to the CAT reservation criteria for IIMs:

CAT Eligibility Criteria: Reservation for PwD Category
Candidates in Person with disability (PwD) category are required to bring their PwD certificate with them to be able to get all the benefits given to the PwD category. Listed below are the disabilities that accepted under PwD reservation.
- Low vision/ blind candidates
- Candidates with hearing impairment
- Candidates with a locomotive disability or cerebral palsy
