MICA Admission 2022: PGDM-C

PGDM in Communication (PGDM-C) is the flagship programme of MICA, offered under five specializations. It is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is equivalent to an MBA degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). MICA Admission 2022: PGDM

The Institute also offers PGDM program, which has Urban Impact Project worth six credits as its compulsory component. However, for PGDM-C students, it is optional. Additionally, the optional courses for PGDM students include Global Corporate Governance, Policy and Ethics, Legal Aspects of Business, and Decoding Customer Engagement.

MICA Selection Process: PGDM

The selection process of PGDM programmes at MICA is a three-step process as shown below:

Step-1: Each candidate need to take at least one of the three exams: CAT/ XAT/ GMAT

Step-2: All candidates are evaluated on the basis of MICAT which consists of 3 sections

  • Section A: Psychometric Test
  • Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) – Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General Awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
  • Section C: Descriptive Test

Step-3: Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in any of the above exams need to appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI) round

Shortlisting Process:

  • During the shortlisting process, MICAT section A (Psychometric test) is a qualifier
  • Candidates who qualify for section A, their relative performance on CAT/ XAT/ GMAT is considered and those who obtain a valid score in this exam are considered for section B of MICAT assessment
  • Those who qualify on the basis of relative performance in Section B will have their Section C of MICAT assessed
  • Candidates who reach and clear section C, are shortlisted for GE & PI round at Ahmedabad/ Bengaluru/ Delhi/ Kolkata or Mumbai
  • The list of GE & PI candidates is prepared on the composite score formula of 50 per cent CAT/ XAT/ GMAT and 50 per cent MICAT scores

MICA FPM Admission 2022

This Institute also offers a Fellow Programme in Management Communications (FPM-C), available in four different specialisations. The duration of this course is three years. The table below shows the specializations and eligibility criteria for admission to the MICA FPM-C course:

The selection process for FPC-C is a two-stage process:

Stage 1: Telephone interviews for eligible candidates

Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates appear for MICA’s FPM admission test, which is a three-day process organised at the MICA campus and comprises Written Test (WT), an Individual Presentation (IP) and a Personal Interview (PI) round

MICA Admission 2022: Post Graduate Certificate

Apart from its two-year and three-year PGDM and Fellowship programmes, MICA also offers Post Graduate Certificate Courses. Candidates need to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) for this course (about 200 to 250 words). Also, there are limited seats available on a first-come-first-serve basis. *For admission to CCC, candidates need not clear CAT. However, they must have a bachelor’s degree/ equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities is a definite prerequisite. Those who are creative, intellectually curious, and vividly imaginative with a diverse set of interests, can apply to the course.

  • The selection process comprises an online test conducted through email with a time deadline of 48 hours to answer a diverse range of questions
  • Successful candidates are shortlisted for the PI round, which is held at Ahmedabad (MICA Campus), Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai
  • The final selection is entirely based on their overall performance

MICA Eligibility Criteria

MICA follows a minimum aggregate of 50 percent aggregate as prescribed by the Government of India.

MICA Application Process 2022

For PGDM-C and FPM-C

To apply for the MICAT exam, candidates need to fill the registration form and pay the MICAT application fees of Rs 2,100 online. The registration form can be obtained online from the official website of MICA. 

  • After completing the registration process, aspirants will receive an email containing the MICA ID and MICA password
  • This ID will be used for all future correspondence and login purposes
  • Admit cards for MICAT will be issued to the candidates after completing the application process successfully and meeting the eligibility criteria
  • Selected candidates will be required to download their admit cards from the official website

For Post Graduate Certificate Programmes

Online applications are accepted for Post Graduate Certificate programmes and the application fee is Rs 1,985, which needs to be paid via a demand draft. Candidates need to fill the application form available on the official website of MICA and send it through the post, along with the following documents:

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Copies of certificates attach with the online application
  • Statement of Purpose (SoP)
  • Proposed research of a maximum of 1,000 words
