Delhi Lieutenant Governor Has Asked The Universities To Provide A List Of Students Who Wish To Visit The Border Areas

On Thursday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena wrote to 10 different universities in the city asking for an action plan to be submitted that would send students to visit border areas as a part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration. This idea came about following a meeting of the National Committee for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations that were headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Saxena wants students from the national capital to have an exposure visit to different parts of the country so they can see the areas bordering India.

During a meeting headed by the Prime Minister, it was suggested that university students should visit border areas as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Lieutenant Governor then decided that all universities should sponsor at least 75 students for an exposure trip to border areas in collaboration with the defense forces and central police organizations.

The visits are designed to raise awareness among students about the great work being done by our defense forces and central police organizations, even in difficult terrain and inclement weather. These visits will help students to understand and appreciate the importance of our independence and sovereignty.

The Lieutenant Governor Secretariat has asked the vice-chancellors of 10 universities to submit an action plan by September 15. The 10 universities are Delhi Technological University, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Research University, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Indraprastha Institute of Information and Technology, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dr. B R Ambedkar University, Delhi Sports University and Delhi Teachers University.
