IIT Placements: Why are Amazon, Google, Meta, and Twitter not hiring from IITs?

Companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have either not recruited or have provided a small pool of offers to most IITs; experts attribute this to a shift in focus away from software and a delay in processing international applications.

In the midst of global layoffs, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have seen a decrease in offers from American tech behemoths such as Amazon, Meta, Twitter, and Google during the 2022-23 placement season.

Only three of the 45 international offers recorded in IIT-Kharagpur so far have come from US-based companies. (File)
