While addressing the appointees, Modi talked about the recruitment drive and how Rozgar mela will become a new link anchoring itself to the country’s self-employment and employment campaigns that have been launched in the past eight years. To commemorate 75 years of independence, the government decided to give appointment letters to 75,000 youngsters under the initiative.

Rozgar Mela recruitment information

The Rozgar Mela initiative is a significant step towards the Prime Minister’s commitment to provide jobs to India’s youth. 38 Indian ministries and departments are working towards filling up existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in mission mode.

There are a total of 23,876 of group A, 25,836 of group B and 7.6 Lakh of Group C vacant posts which will be filled by the end of year 2023. A total of 10,000 posts will be given collectively by the different government departments such as defence, railway among others. The new recruitments will be selected from all over India in posts including central armed force personnel, sub inspector, constable, LDC, steno, PA, income tax inspectors and MTS, etc.

Explaining the rationale of the Rozgar mela, the PM said that the tradition of giving appointment letters at once must be started so that a collective attitude to complete projects in time develops in the departments. Multiple National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled states will conduct such melas in the future. The process of selection has been simplified made tech-enabled for expeditious recruitment.
