As part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to interact with the winners of the National Awards to Teachers at 4:30 pm at his residence. This year, after undergoing an online three-stage process, 45 teachers have been selected from across the country for recognition of their accomplishments. These teachers work in elementary and secondary schools and will be given awards during the ceremony.
Teachers from across the country will be celebrated on Teachers’ Day this year. President Droupadi Murmu will present “National Awards to Teachers 2022” to selected ones, representing states like Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
The National Awards to Teachers is a small gesture for teachers to celebrate the unique contributions of teachers in the country to not only improving the quality of school education but also enriching the lives of students through their sincere efforts. PMO has said that it is vital for the Prime Minister to interact with awardees in order to show support for their commitment to education.
The event will be live on Doordarshan. This event or award ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The event will be telecast live on the Doordarshan and Swayam Prabha Channels of the Ministry of Education.
As announced in an official tweet by the Ministry of Education, every recipient of the National Teachers Award(s) will receive a silver medal, a certificate of merit, and a cash reward of Rs. 50,000. A comprehensive list of teachers was prepared in advance and made available to the public.
