Undergraduate courses
Admissions to the undergraduate courses of the institute are made on the basis of marks obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Please click here for more details. The institute reserve 50 percent of the seats in the undergraduate programme for the students hailing from Tamil Nadu. Moreover, a student aspiring for a B. Tech seat in the institute must be +2 qualified.
Post- Graduate courses
The institute has made two categories for admission into its post-graduate courses-
GATE – Under this category only those students can seek admission who have a valid gate score
Non-GATE / Sponsored Category : A students who want to seek admission under this category has to appear for TAMIL NADU COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (TANCET).
Fees to be paid at the time of reporting
Institute Fees Rs.11,200/- for Open candidates, less Rs.5,000/- (Initial deposit) paid at the Counselling Centre. Hence balance to be paid is Rs.6,200/-
Institute Fees Rs.5,200/- for SC/ST candidates, less Rs.2,000/- (Initial deposit)
Paid at the Counselling Centre. Hence Balance to be paid is Rs.3,200/-
Hostel fees Rs.11,250/-. this includes the Mess charge advance of Rs.8,000/- per semester
Two separate Demand Drafts for Institute and Hostel fees must be obtained, drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Payable at SBI, NIT Branch(Code No:1617), Tiruchy-620 015.
