JBNSTS Senior Scholarship Test, 2013

Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata conducts the JBNTSE Senior Scholarships Test, 2013. Registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act, JBNSTS is promoted by the Government of West Bengal and it is declared as a special institution by the state government. The scholarship is one of the oldest and prestigious scholarships instituted by JBNSTS in India.
Programme
Under this scholarship programme, students will get a monthly scholarship amount of Rs.1000 and an annual book grant of Rs.1000. Selected candidates will be supported till they finish graduate course in Basic Sciences (M.Sc degree), Engineering (B.E) or Medicine (M.B.B.S). Selected JBNSTS scholars are also directly eligible for INSPIRE-SHE programme.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who have passed their Senior Secondary or 10+2 examinations in 2013 and are currently studying in the First year of graduate degree in Basic sciences, Engineering or Medicine in registered Colleges/Institutes/ Universities in West Bengal are eligible to apply for this test.
Selection procedure
The test involves three stages:
First stage: Students will have to undergo a written test based on physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology
Second Stage: Based on the written test, selected candidates will be called for an interview
Third Stage: On the basis of the interview, the shortlisted candidates will take a Scientific Creativity Test.
Application procedure
Interested candidates can obtain application forms from the Principal or Head of their Institution or can be obtained from the office of JBNSTS by sending a self addressed stamped (worth Rs.10) envelope (20 x 12 cm) or can be downloaded from the JBNST website.
Completed forms should be sent along with an application fee of Rs.200 through bank draft in favour of ‘Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search’.
