The centrally sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) offers scholarships on a quarterly basis to students studying as regular students in class IX in government, local body and government-aided schools. The scholarships will be paid from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years.
If you are awarded the scholarship, you must:
- Study in approved courses
- Maintain good conduct as certified by the head of your college/institution and continue studies in government, local body or government-aided schools as a regular student
- Not leave classes without proper leave application
- Take up study on a full-time basis
- Not take up any job

Applications are to be downloaded from the official website and duly filled in applications must be submitted by 16 September 2016, with the required documents.
Each state or union territory will conduct its own test for selection of students for awarding the NMMS.
