SSC Exam Pattern: Recruitment of SI in Delhi Police, CAPF and ASI in CISF

Highlights

The written examination by SSC to recruit Sub-Inspectors (SI) in the Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be conducted in two stages, both of which are Objective Type Questions.

Only the candidates who qualify Paper I can appear for Paper II 

Out of these candidates, only those who qualify the Physical Endurance and Standard Tests will have their Paper II examination paper evaluated.

Paper I

The questions for both Paper I and Paper II will be objective in nature, and will be set in English and Hindi.

A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Selection Procedure of Sub Inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors

Manner of Selection for the posts of SI and ASI in the Delhi Police, CAPF and CISF:

  1. Written Test (Paper I and Paper II)*
  2. Physical Endurance and Standards Test
  3. Medical Examination
  4. Personality Test/Interview

*The Written Examination for Paper I will be conducted as the screening test for Paper II, and Paper II will be evaluated only for the candidates who qualify in the Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

1. WRITTEN TEST [400 Marks]:

  • PAPER 1 [200 POINTS FOR 200 QUESTIONS]

Timing: 10 to 12 Noon

  • English Comprehension: 50 Points
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Points
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Points
  • General Awareness: 50 Points
  • PAPER 2 [200 POINTS FOR 200 QUESTIONS]

Timing: 02 to 04 PM

  • English language & Comprehension: 200 Points

3. MEDICAL EXAMINATION

  • Eyesight

Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction, that is, without the need to wear spectacles.

  • General Health

You should not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint in eyes. Your vision should be high colour.

You should be of sound mental and bodily health, free from any physical defect that is likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties and tasks.

After all the rounds, selected candidates have to undergo the following hurdles as a part of training programme:

  • Holding the rope on jumping from the Board
  • Jumping on the Horizontal Board
  • Jumping over the Vertical Board
  • Monkey Crawl
  • Parallel Rope
  • Tarzan Swing
  • Vertical Rope
