Staff Selection Commission holds an examination for recruitment to the posts of Section Officer Audit in the various offices under Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
The SSC Section Officer Audit Exam Application Form must be submitted in the form published in the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar. The Application Form may be typed out in double space or hand written neatly, but format should be the same as published.
The Application Form should be submitted to the concerned Regional Director as listed in the notification.
Age Limit:Â 18-25 years but relaxable in case of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, Departmental Candidates and few such other reserved categories of persons as specified by the commission.
Educational Qualification: Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University with at least 50% marks.
The exam is conducted in two stages as follows:
• Written Exam
• Interview
The subjects of examination, the time allowed and maximum marks for each subject will be as follows:

Note: Paper-I will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) for part B of paper (Gen. Awareness) and Paper-II (Arithmetic) will be set both in English and Hindi.
The Commission have desecration to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination including paper-II. Answer sheets of paper II i.e. Arithmetic, will be evaluated of only those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying standards in paper I.
The written examination is followed by an Interview (100 Marks). Only those candidates, who secure in the written examination the minimum qualifying marks, as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion, will be eligible to appear at the interview. The interview is held at the Commission’s regional offices.
The candidates must undergo prolonged preparation to take the examination. The examination is aimed at judging the knowledge of the candidate decision making  and understanding of languages of the candidate.
For the Objective test, one needs to start practicing early and regularly. A good book on the basics of General Knowledge, supported by reading a good newspaper and competitive magazine can greatly assist a candidate to do well in the exam.
For Arithmetics, special efforts are required. A standard grammar and comprehension book is of good help for passing the Section Officers (Audit) examination.
Paper-I:
Part-A (English Language): Question in this test will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks(using verbs, prepositions, articles, etc.) vocabulary, spell in sequence of sentence in a paragraph, sequence of words in a sentence, close passage and comprehension passage etc. Synonyms and antonyms will be asked in the context of the given passage. The standard of questions will be only of the 10+2 level.
Part-B (General Awareness): Question in this test will aim at measuring knowledge of current events besides knowledge of General Science/Social Science and their application to the society.
This test will also include questions on sports, culture, history, geography, general polity etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
