Dubai has two types of scholarship programs available i.e. Government Scholarships and College Scholarships.
Types of Government Scholarships
Distinct Features
- In order to get the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships, students must be Pell Grant recipients and academically accomplished. Up to $5,000 are awarded in these very competitive scholarships.
- The David L. Boren Scholarships is very useful too. The federal government needs a lot of highly trained individuals who have intimate knowledge of security-sensitive languages, like Arabic, and foreign cultures including Islamic studies. These are ultra-competitive and highly advertised. Only the best undergraduates and graduates get this scholarship. Recipients are required to work in the Department of Defense or Homeland Security following their graduation. Preference is given to those students who are seriously considering long-term careers in the federal government. Up to $26,000 are awarded for scholarships.

- The Marie Wright Scholarship is for Non-Traditional Locations. The program is specifically designed to reward those studying in far-flung areas where Western students are just now making news. Candidates are chosen for academic merit and program design.
- The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowships offer graduate students an opportunity to pursue studies in a range of locations, including the UAE, which lead to long-term careers with the federal government. Candidates who are financially disadvantaged, minorities, and academically talented are given preference. Howard University administers this program. Fellowships are awarded for a combination of travel and tuition expenses for up to $28,000.
