US Visa Fee for Indian Students

The US visa fee for an Indian student planning to study in the US is $160.

The US student visa fee is the same as “visa application fee“, also called “machine readable visa fee” (MRV fee.)

As a student from India planning to study in the US for a while, you will be eligible for a “non-petition, non-immigrant visa”, the visa pplication processing fee for which = $ 160.

• US SEVIS Fee

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is an Internet-based system. Among other, it tracks the F visa participants (and their family members) from the time they get their initial documents (an I-20 or a DS-2019) until they pass out/leave school.

The SEVIS fee for F1 visa applicants (full payment) is $200 and the SEVIS fee for J1 visa applicants is $180.

There is no SEVIS fee for F2 and J2 visa applicants.
