Highlights

The National Center for Management of Agricultural Extension (MANAGE), Hyderabad started in 1887, with the aim of providing an all-round comprehensive management solutions to the agricultural sector. In due course of time, this institute showed tremendous progress, and helped in nurturing the agricultural units extensively. Because of this stellar achievement, in 1992, its status was elevated to that of a National Institute and re-named to its present name i.e., National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.

MANAGE takes up challenging issues regarding agriculture. As it is a known fact, that success of agriculture is quintessential in bringing about a wholesome economic growth in India, an institute like MANAGE works relentlessly towards achieving this. At MANAGE, students are also credited with providing solutions to the changing policies of liberalization and globalization of the economy, and its effect on the overall agricultural system. Students in this institute are given an in-depth knowledge about various facets of agriculture. The institute is duly equipped with all the modern technology, and the foreign exchange programmes prove to be extremely beneficial for students as well as the faculties. MANAGE has good hostel facilities that provide a comfortable environment to the students.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agri Business Management)

MANAGE offers the AICTE recognized Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agri Business Management) PGDM (ABM). The course includes an extensive study of various aspects of agriculture such as Agricultural Export Management and International Trade, Agricultural Extension Management, Agricultural Finance and Banking, Agricultural Procurement Management, Agri-Input Marketing, Sales & Distribution Management, Supply Chain Management, Commodity Trading, Futures and Options, Enterprise Resource Planning, Farm Production Management, Quantitative Aids for Agri-Business, Risk Management in Agri-Business and Rural Marketing.

The 4th semester of the course involves a summer project of 8-10 weeks with well-known agri-business companies. The course fee is Rs.4.05 lakh and hostel fee Rs.2 lakh for 2015 – 2017 admissions.

Admission process

Applicants will be shortlisted through their CAT 2014 scores. Further selection process will include the following procedures which would test the candidate’s aptitude for agriculture & management:

  • Paper/ essay writing
  • Group discussion (GD)
  • Extempore/ micro presentation
  • Personal interview (PI)

Job placements

Students graduating from MANAGE are rewarded highly by the industry. MANAGE witnesses 100 per cent placement every year with companies like BASF India Ltd, Coromandel, Dhanya Seeds, Dabur India, Fertilizers Ltd, E.I. DuPont India Pvt. Ltd, JK Agri Genetics Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd, ICICI Bank and Tata Chemicals Ltd picking up agricultural experts with competitive pay packages. The 2012 – 2014 batch saw highest salaries to the tune of Rs.10.23 lakhs (domestic) and Rs.26 lakh (international) and the average salary was Rs.7.46 lakh per annum.
