HP India announced today that it would be setting up 2000 digital classrooms in government and government-aided schools across 17 states as part of its HP ALFA initiative. These classrooms will be accessible to students of Classes 9 to 12 and will help enhance digital learning opportunities. The initiative is aligned with the Government of India’s New Education Policy (NEP) – 2020 vision and goals.

What will be available in the digital classrooms?

HP will fund the capital expenditure required to equip each classroom with technology, including multi-function printers, webcams, a laptop for teachers, smart TVs, android boxes, and an internet dongle for connectivity.

Implementation will be managed by HP’s NGO partner NIIT Foundation with active support from other corporations, corporate foundations, and NGOs as part of their CSR initiatives.

The project has three primary objectives: ensuring that students make the most out of digital content and e-learning tools, offering teacher training sessions to empower them to use technology in their classrooms, and partnering with private content providers to use vernacular languages across select locations.

The HP Alfa (Accessible Learning for All) Project is implemented in phases. The first phase focuses on working with corporates and corporate foundations, as well as government and government-aided schools that have senior classes (Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12) in the following states: Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Daman and Diu, Delhi/NCR, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

GATE 2023 - Few months left for the preparation, Here are a few easy steps to Score High in GATE 2023

Copy of News featured image GATE
IndiaEducation Counselling

The GATE exam is one of the most important exams for students who want to study engineering at prestigious universities. The exam is online/computer-based and tests students’ abilities to enter postgraduate and doctoral degree programmes. To crack the GATE exam, students must put in a lot of effort and prepare well.

With GATE 2023 approaching quickly, candidates only have a few months left to prepare for the exam. However, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! Below are a few  easy steps that will help you get ready for the big day:

Once the candidate has gone through the GATE syllabus, it is necessary to devise a schedule so that they can dedicate time to all the subjects. A good schedule will make it easier to keep track of daily, weekly, and monthly activities. It is essential to have a clear idea of what topics have been covered and which ones still need attention. This way, candidates can focus their studying on the areas that need the most work.

Candidates must identify the subjects they are good at and the subjects they are weak in so they can prioritise their time accordingly. Students should focus on maximizing their chances of increasing their GATE scores. Building on their strengths and addressing their weaknesses can be an excellent strategy to prepare for this exam.

Anxiety is one thing that many candidates underestimate. This can happen when they feel the stress and pressure of the exam day nearing or overexerting themselves to be better prepared. Putting in the effort to be prepared is necessary, but it is also essential for students to take a breather once in a while.

Doing so not only refreshes the mind but also allows the student to recollect what they have been studying. When preparing for exams, try to study in short but effective bursts rather than long, drawn-out sessions. This way, you can give your full attention to the task at hand and avoid information overload, which could lead to feeling anxious about the exam.

NEET PG 2022 seat matrix clarified: To what capacity are NMC’s last-minute guidelines affecting students?

NEET PG 2022 seat matrix clarified: To what capacity are NMC's last-minute guidelines affecting students?

The seat matrix is still being edited, even as the counseling for the NEET PG exam, which was executed on May 21, is finally underway. Here’s how professionals consider the situation.

Copy of News featured image 3 17

As the seat matrix for the counseling for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduation (NEET PG) was made available on the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), students noticed that there was a dearth of seats in non-clinical courses.

“This year seats in non-clinical courses have reduced by 8-12%,” says career consultant and analyst, Jayaprakash Gandhi. Here’s the crux of the matter. Even as the MCC has commenced choice filling for seats by candidates from September 20, the seat matrix continues to be updated. Students have lambasted this scenario, with some calling it a joke, that the MCC is proceeding with counselling before the final seat matrix is available to the students.

However, they have noticed that the number of seats available to them has taken a dive, even though the NMC had announced that 371 new medical seats were being added to government, private, and deemed medical universities this year.

Experts attribute this to the last-minute inspections carried out by the NMC to decide if these colleges are capable of offering postgraduate medical education. This process ended up derecognizing seats that had earlier been declared by the NMC.

Sources suggest that this last-minute inspection also caused a delay in the start of the counselling for the NEET PG
“Seats had been increased in a few colleges this year and NMC also issues a circular in this regard. And yet, we did not find them in the seat matrix. NMC should not have approved those seats if they were not going to be uploaded on the website. There is an absolute lack of clarity in the process,” says Dr Karthik Nagula, State President of the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (JUDA).
