The exam pattern of the law entrance exam, LSAT-India is explained in detail:
LSAT-India 2016 will be a paper based test. All questions are in a multiple-choice format. The test assesses students on important critical-thinking skills. The test is not based on specific disciplines such as maths, general knowledge or any legal knowledge. There is no negative marking for wrong responses. The question paper will include four sections. Each section would contain approximately 24 questions allowing 35 minutes for each section. Thus, total duration of LSAT India will be 2 hours & 20 minutes. The test will comprise of questions from Analytical reasoning, Logical reasoning-I, Logical reasoning-II and Reading comprehension.
Analytical reasoning: questions under this section measure the ability of candidates to understand structure of relationships and draw logical conclusions among persons, things, or events.
Logical reasoning: the questions will test your ability to analyze, evaluate, and complete arguments critically as they occur in ordinary language. Such skills are an important for legal reasoning.
Reading Comprehension: This section measures your ability to read and understand complex material which would be similar to those you’ll face in law college. This section would have 4 set of reading material, each having 4 – 9 questions that would gauge your reading and reasoning skills.
Each section would be timed and you can attempt the paper only in the order given in the test booklet. One the time finishes for one section, you must stop and start working on the nest section. You won’t be allowed to go back and forth between various sections of LSAT India.

LSAC does not generally authorize any coaching centres for preparing for LSAT-India. Instead, it recommends that applicants should refer to “The Official LSAT-India Handbook” which can be bought for Rs.450 at the time of registration or for Rs.600 if you buy it separately.
