The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an all India level entrance examination for admission into Master of Business Administration (MBA) and postgraduate (PG) diploma programs offered by different institutes in India and abroad. The Centre for Management Services (CMS) of the All India Management Association (AIMA) has been conducting the MAT since 1988.
Management institutes that offer admission to postgraduate management courses are AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education) approved and affiliated to universities for the awarding of degrees and certificates. MAT is conducted four times a year—in February, May, September and December.
Given below are sample papers and previous years’ papers for MAT. These samples do not necessarily indicate either the types or the difficulty levels of questions that may be included in the actual test. In general, the preparation standard expected is that of a graduate from an Indian university having completed the 10 + 2 + 3 pattern of education. However, the knowledge level required for attempting the section on Mathematical Skills is that of a 10th standard student studying under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The major sections included in the MAT entrance are Language Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Critical Thinking, and General Knowledge.
You can go through the MAT sample papers given below to prepare for the upcoming MAT exam in May 2023.
Solving question papers from previous years is a great way to prepare for MAT. It is an exercise to assess your strength and weakness, and heighten your accuracy. It can also assist you in mastering time management so that you aren’t left struggling for ‘one more minute’ on the day of the actual exam. If practice makes perfect, then solving MAT sample papers can only help you in your path to perfection.
