655 youths, including members of the state civil service cadres, were appointed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday.
Sarma stated that the state government has been inducting competent youths for various government positions as part of its commitment to select meritorious candidates ethically and transparently.
The chief minister requested the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) to conduct a Common Engineering Entrance Examination for the selection of engineers for all the technical departments together every year, with a provision that the successful candidates would be allotted departments through a lottery.
Sarma asked the new appointees to dedicate their lives to serving the poor and common men of the state.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented appointment letters to the selected candidates of Common Competitive Examination (2020) and junior engineers of Irrigation Department at a function held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Saturday. This is part of the State government’s commitment to provide jobs to educated youths transparently.
