Professor V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, announced the school’s dual degree in EV engineering late last year. Since then, he’s received many inquiries from industry contacts and others about the need to re-skill or up-skill existing employees as the auto industry rapidly moves to EVs in the coming years.
The program, which was created to meet the needs of working engineers who want to learn more about e-mobility, will be taught by CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education) at IIT Madras. According to Professor Devendra Jalihal, Chairman of CODE, the program is designed for engineers in various aspects of e-mobility such as manufacturing, sourcing, quality, aftermarket, etc. as well as those looking to transition into e-mobility product development.
