Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), on Tuesday announced a national initiative to elevate India to the top spot in the world and invited all individuals and political groups to join.

To accomplish this, he said, free healthcare and education for all citizens are necessary, as are jobs for young people, equal rights and respect for women, and fair prices for farmers’ produce.

As part of the “Make India Number 1” mission, Kejriwal said he will travel the nation to inspire people to get involved and help the initiative reach its goals. He said the mission is apolitical in nature.

“This is not the mission of a political party, it’s a national mission. I call upon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and all other parties to come forward and join this initiative to make India the number one country in the world, “the chief minister said.

“Many countries, like Singapore, got independence after India but are ahead of us. Why is India lagging behind despite Indians being the most intelligent and hardworking in the world? “Kejriwal asked.
