KC Mahindra Scholarship for Post Graduate (PG) Studies Abroad is offered by KC Mahindra Trust, Mumbai; India. The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage youth to go for higher studies overseas, learn from the out side culture, train in given areas of sciences, engineering, management and in turn to benefit human kind.

Under the scheme, 50 interest-free loan scholarships are provided to eligible candidates. Preference given to students who are interested to pursue their studies in subjects important for the development of the country, such as Survey and Prospecting of the mineral resources of the country, alternate Sources of Energy, like Solar, Wind and Tidal Energy, and Bio-Gas Technology for rural areas, Oceanography, Off-shore Drilling, Harvesting of ocean wealth, like Sea-bed Mining, Fisheries and Exploration of other oceanic products, Water Management, Agricultural Research and Engineering, Transportation Economics, High-Tech electronics and any other emerging areas and industry. The selection committee makes recommendation of an applicant on the basis of academic merit and personality of an applicant. In all cases the Trustee is independent to consider recommendation and award scholarships.

The trust announced in 2010 about the KC Mahindra Fellows Fund where 3 most deserving candidates selected are awarded an interest free loan scholarship of maximum Rs.8 lakh per scholar, based on merit and need. The remaining successful candidates would receive maximum Rs. 4 lakh each.

KC Mahindra Scholarships for PG Studies Abroad are given for tenure of 2 years, which is course duration for a post graduate program. In exceptional cases candidates need to make special request to Trustee regarding extension of tenure etc.


The maximum amount for the scholarship will be Rs.4 lakh per scholar, except for the 3 K.C. Mahindra fellow scholarships for which the maximum amount will be Rs. 8 lakh per scholar.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for KC Mahindra Scholarship, you must fulfill these eligibility conditions.

(a) You should have a First Class degree or an equivalent diploma of similar standard of a recognized Indian University or should be in the final year (provided you can produce your degree certificate before 30 June, 2017)
(b) Applicant must have got admission or should have applied for admission in reputable foreign universities or institutions for a course that begins by August 2017, but not beyond February 2018.
(c) You must be a citizen of India.

Additionally, your character, aptitude and ambition will also a play a role to enable the Trustees to arrive at a final decision.

You must also declare all sources of financial help such as University Scholarships, College Fellowships or other financial support from relations and friends or from other Trusts.

Application Procedure

You can download the application form from the official website. Ensure that the application form is printed on legal / full scape size paper and not A4 size paper.

a) Fill out the application form carefully, not leaving any column blank.
b) Names of referees must be given after taking prior permission from them for the same.
c) The Application Form must have the signatures of:
(i) the candidate
(ii) candidate’s parent or guardian
(iii) the person who will guarantee the regular payment of the insurance premium and repayment of the

Repayment of the Loan Scholarship

KC Mahindra Scholarship for PG Studies Abroad is an interest-free loan to deserving candidates who for higher studies abroad. The candidates are required to repay the scholarship amount to the Trust within 24 months of completing the course or 48 months of receiving the scholarship, whichever is earlier.
