The Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most prestigious and sought-after entrance exams in India. It serves as a gateway for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and several other renowned business schools across the country. The CAT exam is conducted annually by one of the IIMs on a rotational basis.
The CAT exam consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). The VARC section tests candidates’ English language skills, including their ability to read comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary. The DILR section tests candidates’ ability to interpret data and solve logical reasoning problems. The QA section tests candidates’ quantitative aptitude skills, including their ability to solve math problems and apply mathematical concepts.
CAT exam is highly competitive, with thousands of aspirants vying for a limited number of seats. It is known for its challenging nature, requiring candidates to have a strong foundation in quantitative and verbal concepts, as well as the ability to think analytically and apply logical reasoning.
Apart from the IIMs, many other prestigious business schools in India also accept CAT scores for their admission process. The exam opens up opportunities for candidates to pursue management education and pave the way for promising careers in various fields of business and management.
