Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), on Tuesday announced a national initiative to elevate India to the top spot in the world and invited all individuals and political groups to join.

To accomplish this, he said, free healthcare and education for all citizens are necessary, as are jobs for young people, equal rights and respect for women, and fair prices for farmers’ produce.

As part of the “Make India Number 1” mission, Kejriwal said he will travel the nation to inspire people to get involved and help the initiative reach its goals. He said the mission is apolitical in nature.

“This is not the mission of a political party, it’s a national mission. I call upon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and all other parties to come forward and join this initiative to make India the number one country in the world, “the chief minister said.

“Many countries, like Singapore, got independence after India but are ahead of us. Why is India lagging behind despite Indians being the most intelligent and hardworking in the world? “Kejriwal asked.

TN government school HM refused to hoist Flag.

A school in Dharmapuri district is caught in controversy after the headmistress refused to hoist the national flag and ‘salute’ it on the occasion of the Independence Day celebration.

Tamilselvi, the headmistress, is set to retire this year, and the August 15th celebration was meant to be a send-off for her. However, many are claiming that her actions are disrespectful and have called for her to be removed from her position.

Tamilselvi explained why she abstained in a video that was later recorded, attributing it to the fact that she is a Yakoba Christian. She said, “We only salute God and no one else,” adding that she didn’t mean any harm or disrespect to the flag. We respect the flag, but we will only salute God. So, we asked the assistant headmistress to hoist the flag. “

According to the complaint made to the district CEO, Tamilselvi has been accused of displaying and engaging in bias against one religion, especially in a government institution.

Another incident came into view when a formal complaint was delivered to the chief education officer (CEO) of Dharmapuri, bringing to light the incident in which the top administrator of a government-run school refused to hoist the flag on Independence Day. The headmistress was mentioned in the complaint as having taken a leave of absence during the previous Independence Day celebrations out of concern. And that she did it over the years on the pretext of sick leave.

CUET 2022 PHASE 4 exam cancelled

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had to postpone the CUET-UG fourth phase on Wednesday due to technical issues affecting about 8,600 candidates, according to authorities. According to them, on August 25, the candidates who were affected by the glitch will be allowed to retake the exam.

“Due to some unavoidable technical reasons, examinations scheduled for today were canceled in 13 centers in Shift 1 and Shift 2. A total of 8,693 candidates were affected out of 1.45 lakh candidates. All the affected candidates will get a chance for a retest on August 25,” UGC chairman Jagadesh Kumar said.

Two in Varanasi, including one at IIT BHU, and one each in Bihar, Gaya, Delhi, and Faridabad, are among the eight locations where the exam has been postponed.

Students from Delhi’s Guru Hargobind Institute of Management and Information Technology, Aakash International Senior Secondary School in Nangloi, and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies in Pitampura claimed they were asked to return due to technical difficulties and server issues.

Several students stated that their test began at least two hours later than it was supposed to. Devyani, who had traveled to Pitampura for her CUET, said, “We waited for two hours for the exam to begin in the first shift. Some of the students were also sent back, citing technical glitches.”

CUET is a common entrance test to get undergraduate admission in all universities. Around 3.6 lakh students appeared in the CUET 2022 phase 4 examination that was scheduled from 17-20 august.

The deceased allegedly complained of suffocation and breathing issues to his friends. When his friends asked for help from hospital authorities, they were reportedly denied an ambulance and told that Malviya was not a hotelier, according to students.

AIIMS Paramedical Student Death

The paramedical students of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) staged a protest on Saturday against the hospital administration following the death of one optometry student.

The agitated students claimed that the death was caused due to the negligence of the hospital administration and that had the authorities provided them with a hostel within the hospital premises, the student’s life could have been saved.

Abhishek Malviya, a first-year student of optometry, sadly passed away three days after complaining of suffocation and breathing issues. His friends had to ask for help from the hospital authorities, but were reportedly denied an ambulance because Malviya was not a hotelier and such services are not supposed to be extended to students residing outside the hospital campus.

It took 2-3 hours for Malviya to reach the AIIMS emergency, where he was declared critical and subsequently shifted to the new private ward of the hospital. He was later diagnosed with H1N1 (influenza) and his lungs’ function collapsed when he was placed on ECMO.

Now the students are claiming that they are receiving threats from the authorities to stop the protests. The students claimed hostel superintendent Dr Sandip Aggarwal threatened them, saying, “Course chor do ya mar jao, jo marzi karo, nahi mil skta hostel tumhe.” (Leave your course or die, do whatever you want, you won’t get a hostel).

JNU CUET PG 2022:

Jawaharlal Nehru University’s vice-chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, said that the institution has been appealing to the union government to change the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) format for postgraduate admissions.

Pandit said that admissions to master’s programmes cannot be conducted through Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) tests and spoke of the impact on student intake in the absence of qualitative testing.

Referring to the university’s decision to follow the CUET for admissions, she said, “The acceptance to join (CUET)was done by the previous administration… If I was there, I would have put these concerns in writing. Because it’s very important, I think, that we tell the government because the bureaucracy does not understand.”

She added, “So, it is important that as a teacher, stakeholder within the system, we have to make them understand that these are the difficulties that we have in reality,” adding: “We are not opposing the system, per se, but the implementation of the system can be disastrous if we are going to have this kind of uniformity.”

The CUET-PG is a new entrance exam that many central universities have decided to use for the academic year of 2022-2023. It is a computer-based exam that will be taking place in 500 different cities across India, as well as 13 different centers located abroad. The test will happen over the course of eleven days, with two different sessions each day.
