In his inaugural speech, Stalin said that in the first phase 1.16 lakh students will be provided free breakfast, as stated in a report by IANS. Stalin said, “This will be further expanded. No one should think that this is a freebie. It’s the duty of the government to do this,” as per IANS. He said that no poor and underprivileged student should drop out of school for the need of food.

The Tamil Nadu government has chosen September 15 to inaugurate the scheme on the birthday of the DMK Founder-Leader and former Chief Minister, late CN Annadurai.

In the first phase, the free breakfast scheme will be implemented in 1,545 schools. The breakfast includes Pongal, Khichdi, and Upma and on Fridays, a sweet will be provided in addition to the regular breakfast which is either rava kesari or semya kesari, as per IANS.

Karnataka Hijab Ban Supreme Court Asks For An Authentic Figure Of Students Who Have Dropped Out

The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked whether there were any authentic figures regarding students dropping out of educational institutions in Karnataka because of the hijab ban and the subsequent judgment by the high court on the issue.“Do you have those authentic figures that because of this hijab ban and the subsequent judgment of the high court, 20, 30, 40 or 50 students have dropped out?” a bench of Justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia asked after the counsel appearing for one of the petitioners raised the issue of students, especially girls.

Senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi, representing one of the petitioners, was quoted by PTI as saying to the bench that was hearing arguments on a batch of pleas challenging the Karnataka High Court verdict refusing to lift the ban on hijab in educational institutions of the state, “My friend (one of the lawyers) informed me that 17,000 students had really abstained from the exams after this particular judgment.”

Ahmadi commented on the government’s recent decision, saying that it would force girls who were receiving a secular education in schools to go back to Madrasas. He went on to ask why someone’s religious observance should be seen as a hindrance to getting an education or being united with others. Finally, he questioned why other students would have a problem with someone wearing a hijab if they went to school.

“It is a balance that your lordships will have to strike as well as the state government,” he told the bench during the arguments. The state government’s order from February 5, 2022, which banned clothes that disturbed equality, integrity, and public order in schools and colleges, was referred to in the apex court.
Several pleas have been filed in the top court against the March 15 verdict of the high court, which held that wearing a hijab is not an essential religious practice and therefore cannot be protected under Article 25.

The Conrad Challenge is an opportunity for students from all over the world to come together and create solutions that promote innovation and entrepreneurship. This is a chance for students between the ages of 13 and 18 to learn about entrepreneurship, make friends, and use their skills in science, technology, and innovation to solve global problems.

California-based Cupertino High School students Aarush Yadav, 14, and Arihan Yadav, 17, were in one such finalist team during the its 2021-22 edition for a Universal Messaging app that enables speech, vision, and hearing impaired people live a full life both in the real world (e.g. video conferencing) and the metaverse. Using the app, people with speech, vision, and hearing disabilities can communicate with those who do not understand sign language. This year’s edition had 950 teams in total and Arihan Yadav and Aarush Yadav were among the finalists chosen.

Teams that took part in the second round of the event represented over 2,000 students from 45 countries. If you’re a student between the ages of 13 and 18, you’re eligible to join the challenge. You must participate as a member of a team of 2-5 students. You can form a team with schoolmates, siblings, camp friends, or any other eligible students you know. You and your teammates may compete from any corner of the globe. If you’ve competed in a previous year, you may compete again as long as you still meet the age criteria and other requirements. The experience of taking part in the Conrad Challenge was extremely beneficial for us. We learned a lot about investing and the business world, and we also improved our public speaking skills and ability to come up with practical solutions to modern problems.

My brother Arihan, who is my co-founder, emphasizes the importance of the networking opportunities that were available throughout the event. He recalls meeting other finalist teams and says that the Conrad community was very supportive. There are four divisions in the Conrad Challenge: aerospace & aviation, cyber-technology & security, energy & environment, and health & nutrition. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to take part in such a well-rounded and informative event.

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna Says 20000 Indian Students In France By 2025

The French foreign minister, Catherine Colonna, stated on Wednesday that the goal of France is to have 20,000 Indian students by the year 2025. In order to reach this objective, Colonna noted that they would need to increase the number of yearly students by 50%. She said this is a very ambitious goal but one that is achievable considering the relationship between India and France. Additionally, it was mentioned that they have already recovered from the pandemic in terms of the number of Indian students dipping in interest to study abroad in France.

France’s appeal among Indian students is still going strong, with plans to welcome nearly the same number of students in 2022 as compared to 2019. According to the diplomat, more than 5,000 students have already completed the necessary paperwork for long-term studies in France. Colonna also praised France’s financial aid efforts for students, which benefited a large number of Indians. “France provided unprecedented support through scholarships, with a record of € 1.6 million this year that benefited 500 Indian students.” The scholarships were sponsored by private companies through the French Indian Education Trust.

During her discussion with students, she emphasized the need for gender equality in not just education, but also internationally. “I believe we (men and women) are complimentary. And the world would be in better balance and harmony if there are more women in key positions,” she said.

It’s important to have gender equality not just in education, but in all aspects of life. We need more women in leadership roles so that we can have a better balance in the world. As we approach the 25th anniversary of India-France strategic relations in 2023, she underlined the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. “Our countries share common values, such as democracy, rule of law, of course. But also our relation to the world, be it our keen appreciation for beauty and refinement in Arts including gastronomy, our interest for History or our vision of the future.”

Indias Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Country Needs Students Ready For The Workforce Upon Graduating From Educational Institutions.

The need of the hour for education institutions in India is to produce graduates capable of getting into industry, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Saturday. Students passing out from institutions need to be able to serve the country’s development goals, the FM said at an event in Chennai. For this to happen, India first needs to understand what the industry requires, she added.

“Our goal is to produce students who are not only capable of getting into industry, but also able to contribute to India’s development goals. I think most institutions have achieved this synergy by now. The government speaks to them and they give input to the government. As a result, you (students) are able to get an education from institutions which are absolutely important,” Sitharaman said.

Sitharaman stated that higher education in India is at par with global educational institutions. People who have studied in Indian universities now make up the “second largest contingent when it comes to managing the best of companies around the world,” she noted.

Currently, India has to depend on other countries for some of its industrial needs, particularly in the futuristic and sunrise sectors, which is why Indian manufacturing suffers whenever there is a supply disruption.”What we need to do now is understand what the industry needs and be able to manufacture products that meet those needs, said she. Industry leaders sitting on the boards of prestigious educational institutions are important because they help draw in talented students and provide them with rigorous learning experiences.”

IIT JEE Center: Govt must allot Goa a permanent JEE center

Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has requested Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and chief minister Pramod Sawant to allot a permanent center for conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) in Goa, for entry into one of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology.

This, he said, will allow Goan students to answer the examination without facing the hardships of traveling out of the state. He highlighted the recent case of Goan students who had to travel to Sawantwadi in Maharashtra to answer Session 2 of the JEE (Main) 2022.

“It is given to understand that there is a 50% reservation for Goan students in NIT Goa. But this year, no center was allotted to Goa because of which over 1,000 students had to travel out of Goa for it,” he said. He stated that travel affects the mental state of students who are already stressed out about answering an exam like JEE.
