Arvind Kejriwal Announced Free Education To All The Students In Gujarat

Kejriwal, as his second contract, vowed that an AAP government “will convert existing government schools into ‘Shandar’ schools which will be more satisfactory than private schools.

Arvind Kejriwal Announced Free Education To All The Students In Gujarat

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party spoke at the “Har Hath Tiranga” program of the Delhi government on the eve of Independence Day. He promised “free and good education” to all children in Gujarat.

In a town hall meeting in Bhuj, the district headquarters of Kutch district, Kejriwal said that every child born in Gujarat is entitled to a good education. He went on to say that while parents are free to send their children to private schools if they have the means to do so, no child will be left behind if their parents lack the financial resources. He promised that Gujarat will provide the best possible education to all children, free of charge.

The AAP chief promised the people of Gujarat that the party will free education for children, overhaul government schools, audit private schools, regularize contract teachers, and not assign non-teaching duties to teachers if it wins the Assembly elections.

Arvind Kejriwal promised that if his party was elected, they would turn government schools into “Shandar” schools, which would be better in quality than private schools. He went on to say that they would invest in new infrastructure, hire better teachers, and open more government schools.

“We will also audit all private schools to make sure they aren’t collecting excessive fees. If we find that any school has been doing this, we will ask them to return the money to the parents. Also, if any government school wants to increase its fees, it will need approval from the government first. We don’t want any school to be able to increase their fees without a good reason.”

The future of 17 crore students studying in government schools, including 53 lakh in Gujarat, is bleak, according to the AAP chief. He claims that government schools are in shambles because “the BJP and Congress governments haven’t set schools right and instead made education kabada (a business).”

“Fourthly, at the moment, there are a lot of kacche (ad hoc) teachers like contractual and vidyasahayaks. We will make their service regular and give them respect. They will teach our students well only if we respect them, honor them and give them job security.”

As his fifth guarantee, he said teachers won’t be assigned non-teaching duties. “We will not give non-teaching duties to any government school teacher. We have stopped this in Delhi and then in Punjab also,” he said.

Rates Rise Indicates How Cost Of Living Impacts Children's Education

The Reserve Bank’s latest decision to raise the official cash rate has only made it clearer that the Government needs to respond positively to calls from unions for a pay increase that would recognize the work of those in the education, health, public, and community sectors, NZEI Te Riu Roa President Liam Rutherford said.

Untitled design 15

To control inflation, which is at a 30-year high, the Reserve Bank increased the interest rate to three percent. NZEI Te Riu Roa, one of the major public sector unions, is negotiating a pay agreement with the Government that would help offset the rising cost of living and the ongoing effects of the pandemic.

Mr. Rutherford said that even the smallest interest rate rise will affect members and that’s why they agreed to join the unified approach to achieve a pay increase. He believes that their collective strength will help them get the best agreement possible.

Mr. Rutherford said that while the primary education sector is struggling to deal with COVID-19 staff shortages, the rising cost of living is also affecting the supply of teachers.

Educators are finding that the bigger centers, like Auckland, are not as appealing anymore. The cheaper housing in other areas is much more appealing, but this puts pressure on principals in these smaller towns to recruit staff. They also have to manage the increased work demands on themselves and their teachers, as well as try to retain people in the profession.

“One school principal in Auckland told me that he doesn’t have a single staff member who is under the age of 40. He believes that this is because many younger teachers have left Auckland. After all, it’s less expensive to live outside of the city.”

The rising cost of living affects everyone, but it has especially dire consequences for those in the education system who are fighting for smaller class sizes, more support for school principals, and increased resources for children with high learning needs. Mr. Rutherford spoke about how this lack of Tamariki getting the education they deserve also affects society as a whole.

“These are all long-term cases that are existing boosted by these stresses currently,” he said.

Maharashtra Education 2022: Huge Drop in Admissions 2022 In Professional And Self-Financing Courses

The study found that more students were choosing to stray from traditional courses and instead enroll in professional courses. Although there was a slight rise in enrolment overall, it’s clear that students are increasingly interested in learning practical, skills-based information.

Maharashtra Education 2022

In the state, 31% of first-year diploma engineering course seats were vacant as opposed to the total intake capacity.

A recent report by the Bombay University and College Teachers Union (BUCTU) revealed an alarming number of vacancies for professional and self-financing courses across the state in 2021-22. The high number of vacancies is indicative of the fact that fewer students are interested in these courses. The report’s authors believe that this trend is due to students’ lack of awareness about the benefits of these courses.

In the matter of engineering diplomas, the number of accepted students is 69,700 against the 1,02,224 open seats, so empty seats are 31.8 percent. In the graduate class in engineering studies, blank seats are 50,556, which is 36.8 percent of the total input capacity across the state.

“The number of seats in unaided engineering colleges is 1,31,424, which is 95.6 percent of the total intake capacity, and 49,645 of these, which is 37.8 percent are vacant. “

The study found that the workload for the staff has shrunk. At the PG level, there are few institutions, and intake capacity is also low. With 20.1 percent, even this low intake of PG remains substantially unutilized,” added Mukhopadhyay. The study report was compiled using enrolment data from various government sources, including the admission figures shared by state universities and the data in the Economic Survey of Maharashtra.”

Other professional courses

Although self-financing un-aided institutions manage most hotel management courses, only 10.3% of management study seats are currently filled. In contrast, 47.1% of hotel management course seats are vacant.

Traditional courses

The arts faculty has 36.1% vacant seats at the graduate level and 60.9% at the postgraduate level. The commerce faculty has 28.9% vacant seats at the graduate level and 23.6% at the postgraduate level.

As nations can play the most important position in shaping the status of the country; education is responsible for shaping an individual. Accordingly, education can be termed the “backbone of any country.”

Education recreates a vital role in technical developments and imparts different skills, values, and awareness. Therefore, education works as a major part in growing and spreading awareness about the concept of — “Independence”.

Here are some of the thoughts by our top known National Leaders on the Country’s education and its system, which include:

Jawaharlal Nehru: “Ignorance is always afraid of change.”

Chandra Shekhar Azad: “Don’t see others doing better than you, beat your records every day because success is a fight between you and yourself.”

Bhagat Singh: “It is easy to kill individuals, but you cannot kill the ideas. Great empires crumbled, while the ideas survived.”

Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit: “Education is not merely a means for earning a living or an instrument for the acquisition of wealth. It is an initiation into a life of the spirit, a training of the human soul in the pursuit of truth and the practice of virtue.”

BR Ambedkar: “The backward classes have come to realize that after all education is the greatest material benefit for which they can fight. We may forego material benefits, we may forego material benefits of civilization, but we cannot forego our rights and opportunities to reap the benefit of the highest education to the fullest extent. That the importance of this question from the point of view of the backward classes who have just realized that without education their existence is not safe.”

Lala Lajpat Rai: “If I had the power to influence Indian journals, I would have the following headlines printed in bold letters on the first page: Milk for the infants, Food for the adults, and Education for all.”

75th Independence Day 2022: India's Journey In Education Sector, From 18.3% Literacy Rate To 77.7%

At 75 years of India’s independence, here’s a glimpse at India’s journey from including an 18.3 percent literacy rate in 1951 to 77.7% in 2017–18.

Untitled design 10

India has reached a long way in the 75 years since its independence, improving its literacy rate from 18.3 percent in 1951 to 77.7 percent in 2017-18. This is an amazing achievement, and it’s thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Indian people.

India has reached a long path since achieving independence 75 years ago on August 15, 1947. Whether it’s economy, infrastructure, science, technology, or education, the country has progressed in every field. Education has been a robust contributor to the growth of India in the post-Independence era.

Indians, including Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Parag Agarwal, Lena Nair, Shantanu Narayen, Ajaypal Singh Banga, and Indra Nooyi among others being CEOs of top multinationals have also proved that the country’s education system has progressed or performed better than most of the countries in the world.

After 200 years of colonial rule, India set up a planning commission in 1950 to prepare a blueprint for the development of education in India. Various plans were drawn after that, and the primary goals of these plans were to eradicate illiteracy, achieve universal elementary education, and establish vocational and skill training programs among others.

Various plans were drawn after that, and the primary goals of these plans were to eradicate illiteracy, achieve universal elementary education, and establish vocational and skill training programs among others. However, it wasn’t until recently that the government began to focus on achieving these goals through technology-driven solutions.

India got independence in 1947, and 20 years later the first education policy was announced in 1968. The second education policy came 20 years after that, in 1986. The 1986 education policy mostly announced minor changes to the 1968 education policy. So that means that the current education policy (NEP 2020) comes after 52 years.

India at 75: Key outcomes in Education

  • In 1950-51, there were 0.41 girls for every boy in classes 1 to 8. Now girls outnumber boys in school education with 1.02 girls for every boy.
  • The literacy rate in India has jumped from 18.3% in 1951 to 77.7% (2017–18).
  • In 1950-51, there were 578 colleges in India, which have now increased to 42,343.
  • The tally of medical colleges presently stands at 612 which was 28 in 1951.
  • In 1951, India had one IIT and now the count has increased to 23.

At the period of independence, female education was not deemed important and people were also hesitant to educational institutions. In 1950-51, there were 0.41 girls for every boy in classes 1 to 8. Now, according to the government, girls outnumber boys in school education with 1.02 girls for every boy.

West Bengal Govt Didn't Allow To Hoist National Flag To Students, Alleges Union Minister Subhas Sarkar.

He stated that despite announcing state government authorities about his stay to the Midnapore Central Correctional Home, no arrangements were made to boost the tricolour there.

Union Minister Subhas Sarkar stated that the West Bengal administration did not allow him to hoist the national flag at a correctional institution in Paschim Medinipur district as part of the Centre’s ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign, news agency PTI reported. He said that despite informing state government authorities about his visit to the Midnapore Central Correctional Home, no arrangements were made to hoist the tricolour there.

While speaking with reporters outside the jail compound on Saturday, the Union Minister stated that he was disappointed to find no arrangements had been made to hoist the national flag. He said that this showed the West Bengal government’s apathy and indifference towards the sacrifice of our heroes.

The TMC dismissed the accusation as “ridiculous.”

Sarkar, the Union Minister of State for Education, stated that he would not hold the correctional home officials responsible because they followed state government directions and there was obviously no communication regarding the August 13 programme. However, he did say that it was disappointing that more effort wasn’t made to inform the detainees about the event.

“Despite all official communication, including my telephonic talk with the chief secretary, I was not given permission to celebrate the event and pay my tributes to the martyrs of West Bengal at the Midnapore Central Jail,” he posted on Facebook.

The ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is being held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Rajya Sabha MP of the TMC, said that Sarkar instigated the dispute in order to cast the state administration in a negative light since efforts are being made to hoist the tricolour throughout the state.

“We should not learn about patriotism or how to show respect to the country’s freedom fighters from the BJP,” he added.

JEE Advanced 2022: Candidates Completed JEE Advanced Registration

The JEE Advanced 2022 registration process was completed on Thursday. The JEE Mains Advanced exam will be held on August 28 at 600 centers across India.

JEE MAIN

Out of the 2.6 lakh students who cleared the JEE (Main) last year, 1.5 lakh registered for JEE (Advanced). This year, a total of 1.6 lakh students have registered for JEE (Advanced), including 50 foreign nationals. The JEE (Advanced) is the examination that determines admissions to 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across India.

The registration process for the entrance test was completed on Thursday. The exam, which will be computer-based, is going to be held on August 28 at 600 centres in 226 cities across India. There is no test centre outside India. “Students who have filled the forms but are yet to complete the payment of examination fee will have time till August 12 to complete the process. Admit cards will be issued from August 23,” said an official from the JEE 2022 office.

Out of all the students who cleared JEE (Main), last year 1.5 lakh registered for JEE (Advanced) while in 2020, 1.6 lakh had registered. In both years, only 1.5 lakh students appeared for the test. With 16,232 seats available in 23 IITs, considerably more than the 13,000 available in 2019, there has been an increase in available seats. This includes 1,583 supernumerary seats for females.

However, in recent years, some IITs have been struggling with vacancy issues – especially the newer ones. In 2017, 121 seats were left vacant, whereas in the previous year it was only 96. According to officials at the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), older IITs and popular courses tend not to have vacancies. “However, if a student does not manage to get a seat in their desired IIT or course, taking admission to a non-IIT technology college is often preferred,” an official shared.
