The ‘University Placement Cell’ is responsible for organizing placement drives to provide job and internship opportunities for students. The university has tie-ups with several recruiters, including WSP India, HDFC Life, Dhurin, TCS Atlas, Aakash Byjus, Federal Bank, Accenture, HCL Technologies, SAGE Publications India, and Infosys BPM Ltd., among others, who participate in the placement drives.
CUET UG 2023: Allahabad University is among the oldest universities in India and offers a wide range of undergraduate programs such as BA, BSc, BCom, BVoc, BCA, PGDCA, and BTech. In 2022, the university received a total of 2.62 lakh applications for CUET, making it the third most sought-after university after Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University.
For all undergraduate courses, except for BTech, admissions are conducted based on the scores obtained in the CUET exam. On the other hand, for admission to the BTech program, candidates are selected based on their JEE Main scores.
Allahabad University used to admit students to its undergraduate programs based on entrance exams conducted by the university itself before the introduction of CUET.

Allahabad University has a total of 15 hostels, out of which 9 are for boys and 6 are for girls. The allocation of hostel rooms is based on the merit lists prepared on the basis of the CUET scores. Students who wish to stay in the hostels have to fill out the application form for admission to the hostels. Those who fail to submit the form will not be considered for hostel allocation.
In the hostels, students will have access to the reading room and common hall facilities. However, in order to be eligible to appear for a university examination, students must complete at least 80% of the hostel attendance.

Allahabad University comprises of 11 constituent colleges, namely Allahabad Degree College, Prayagraj, Arya Kanya Degree College, Prayagraj, Chaudhary Mahadeo Prasad Degree College, Prayagraj, Ewing Christian College, Prayagraj, Iswar Saran Degree College, Prayagraj, Hamidia Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, Jagat Taran Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, K.P. Training College, Prayagraj, Rajarshi Tandon Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, Sanwal Dass Sadan Lal Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, and Shyama Prasad Mukherji Govt. Degree College, Prayagraj.
In addition to these colleges, the university has four faculties, namely arts, commerce, science, and law, with a total of 33 departments.
Allahabad University  was established on September 23, 1887, making it the fourth oldest university in India after Calcutta, Bombay, and Madras University. The first entrance examination of the university was conducted in March 1889. The credit for conceptualizing a large Central College in Allahabad, which later became a University, goes to Sir William Muir, the Lt Governor of United Provinces.
